Course Curriculum Overview
Although all the course curriculum is based on basics and the importance of technical industry (in my case)but I feel like some courses are outdated and need to be changed with the rapidly developing world. students need less assignments/homework and more practical / field knowledge to get hands-on experience to the industry.
Internships Opportunities
Google, Microsoft, amazon, Accenture, ONGC are the major companies to offer internships role. these companies offer roles of SDE (SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER) / SWE (SOFTWARE ENGINEER) INTERN with a stipend varying according to the skill. the highest stipend i heard from someone was 1.5L per month from Accenture and the lowest was 25000 per month from Microsoft.
Placement Experience
placements are offered in this college as some of my seniors got placed from 2024 batch but as you all guys know , recession is hitting the market which in terms affected the placements in near coming future. estimately from the batch of 2000-2300 engineering students 200-300 students will get placed max, not even exaggerating but this is the fact and this is the scene over many engineering colleges and upcoming placement season really looks scary. Good students will always get placements in most cases but sometimes it is the matter of luck. college placement department tries their best to reach to us about incoming internships and offers but in reality it's in the hand of companies who decide that how many employees they want to hire.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, B.Tech fees is somewhere nearly about 10-14 lakhs depending on the specilization , hostels , course . for Administration (BBA) its about 4.5-5 lakhs and for BCA its about +4 lakhs. i dont know about other courses but you can easily get fee structure brochure on their online portal. scholarships are available (for ex. defence personnel , girl child , high school / JEE score , sibling discount ,etc.). and if you do better in college like if you get good CGPA , then you get scholarship and discount in you fees. 2 modes of fee payments are available , half yearly and full yearly fee payment. I am not sure about campus employment opportunities but there are some students of GEU/GEHU who've joined this campus as assistant professors after the graduation/Ph.D.
Campus Life
social aspects are good. club involvement is majorly well over here in GEU and infrastructure is better than many colleges in dehradun. i dont like the computer labs over here as PC's are laggy and old over here but we can't do anything about it.
Admission
so basically high school cutoff was 60% and anyone above 70% aggregate in PCM could have applied for B.Tech CSE in 2021. there is no entrance exam for admission into this college. just JEE EXAM scores or HIGH SCHOOL scores can be applied over here for admission into this college. you can admit your student into this college but 2 ways , one is to visit their online portal and other way is to visit their campus and applying via forms physically. there are 2 GRAPHIC ERA CAMPUS in Dehradun , 1 in BHIMTAL , 1 in HALDWANI and 1 MEDICAL COLLEGE IN DEHRADUN named as GEIMS . the campuses situtated in dehradun are : GEU aka (GRAPHIC ERA DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY , DEHRADUN) and other is GEHU aka (GRAPHIC ERA HILL UNIVERSITY).
