THE JOURNEY OF AN ENGINEER

In our college we have almost all engineering branches , with great faculties who have done their PHD. In electrical engineering we have different kind of labs like Machine lab, Power Electronic lab etc. which are well equipped and well maintained. Our labs are more focused on practical knowledge and we have a club known as ROBOTICS in which students can show their creativity which prepares us for real world applications and we get benefits in our placements. Course curriculum is pretty good but the teaching methods could be improve as per modern technology. We have two internals in a single semeter and the frequency of exams are balanced. Students gets sufficient time to prepare well for the exams .

Our college provides internship opportunities for different branches. Students can do internships in online mode through UDEMY or INTERNSHALA and that is verified by the college. Different organisations are coming to the college for offline internships specifically for core branches and they are focused on field work as well . Some compamies also gave pre-placement offers to the students.

Our college provides decent placement opportunities . Students are eligible for placements from 7th semester itself. There are several companies that visited to our college like Amazon, Wipro, TATA power , Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Airtel etc. For non core branches like computer science the highest package was 12 lakhs and for core branches the highest package that offered was 9 lakhs. The average package for non core branches is around 6 lakhs and for core branches the average package is around 5 lakhs . Around 60 percent of students are getting placed from our college. It is low as our college is new as compared to other colleges as it is established in 2009, but the college is improving in this area year by year. My plans after getting graduated is to get a good placement or to prepare for govt. examinations like GATE or ISRO.

The fee structure of our college is quite affordable than other colleges in odisha. We have no such fee increasing policy . The tuition fee is 30000 per year and hostel fee is 50000 per year which also includes mess fee. Students can avail various scholarships like post-matric , E- medhabruti etc which are provided by the govt. of odisha by which students can get upto 20000-30000 per year. The scholarship amount can be increase in case of reserved students and they can get upto 40000 per year. Mny students are engaged in different college responsibilities like club management and many more. Our college fee structure is much more less than other colleges .

In our college we have many different fests like cultural fest which is named as EXUBERANCE and we a TECHFEST as well in which students can present their skills and innovations to the world. We have a large number of books including technical and fictional in our central library which is available to the students from 9 am to 8 pm. Our class rooms are well maintained and fitted with digital smart boards which helps professors to teach in a efficient way. Some class rooms and high tech computer science labs are eqipped with air conditioning as well. We have a open gym in our playground and we have many sports progam all over the year. SAURYA is a grand sports event conducted by our college in which students from other reputed college in odisha do participate . Apart from that we have a inter-college annual sports event as well. There is club called SHADOW which encourages the students in photography and also handle the college's social media website.

We have three boys hostels and two girls hostels available in our college. The hostels are well maintained and cleaned regularly. We got two pairs of tables and chairs in the room. There is no internet facility in hostel rooms therefore students have to contact the local internet provider for internet connection. To be honest the meal quality is not that good but it is managable as per the mess fees. We have varities of food items in the menu. In a day only breakfast, linch and dinner is served. And for evening snacks students have manage on their own. Registration process of hostel and mess is done at the time of admission and as i mentioned before the hostel fee is 50000 per year yaer which include mess fees. We have PG nearby our college and if someone did not opt for hostel they can stay in the PGs which is around 4-5 kms from our college.

For admission into our college you have to give entrance exams like JEE mains or OJEE. Student must be from science background. Through these only someone can get admission in this college. You can find the application details in college website and OJEE councelling website.To get admission you have to sit in OJEE councelling . Your branch will be alloted through OJEE councelling respective of your rank in JEE mains. For electrical engineering the cutoff is around 5 lakhs. As you have to give JEE mains , you have to prepare all science subjects of 11th and 12th standard. But a decent preparation can get get you to this college. The admission process was quite smooth and you will get all notice regarding dates in the college website. The admission process was unorganised but the college is improving on this.
