Remarks

What lot I heard about the college crowd it wasn't Upto the expectation. Also I heard a lot about the dance society but it's not that good. The canteen serves good food but 90 percent of the menu is south Indian only. Some of the classes are situated in the corner ground of the college which is really hot and suffocated . There are dogs sleeping in the classes did ground floor but since it's been so long they all are like family to us. The over all environment is good fun and sweet . Every one look joyous and happy and everyone is there to help anyone

Entrance Preview

Heard a lot about this college since I was in 10th. I talked with my seniors, checked on google, quora and compared the ratings with other colleges. I found out that the college is known for its crowd, societies and faculty and the annual fest. So overall I find it good. I left ramjas , kirori Mal , daulat ram, gargi and got admitted in this college hoping it to be up to the expectations.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course Is quite interesting, with the coming of Daulat I think students are getting knowledge of more fields and their future job options are getting more wider. Since I am doing history Gargi. So two main subjects are Indian history and world history. I was then asked to choose a GE subject ( generic elective ) so I opted for political science from 10 other options. Andy fourth subject is aecc English which is compulsory for most of the du students.

Internships Opportunities

It does provide an internship. It's been a month since I am here and there are already many posters that I see for and annual ( related to a theater to digital marketing ) I haven't yet gone for any event as.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement isn't that good as what I got to know specially for the arts students after coming to the college. But the placement cell of the college works so hard to get the best for us , so you never know when they will surprise us with what. So overall all its nice.

College Events

5

Every society performs any time they want, there are these departmental fest and annual college fest which goes for consecutive three days. Their helpful event as well. There is NGOs event. Religious event celebration and national events with all full pride and enthusiasm.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Not expensive at all. There's difference in the fee paid by students. It depends on the course and the category of the student. Since I am general category the fee is 11k annually being a government college it's good . Comparing fees with the infrastructure. It's justified fee .

Fees and Financial Aid

Don't know about this much , but the two topper of each class and each semester ( one girl and one boy) if they live in Delhi or nearby they were be given hostel facility if needed . Students can avail education loan if they need.

Campus Life

5

It's diversity all throughout the college. The current president elections you'll see the same number of girls and boys standing for election. The extra curricular is nice sports men like yuvraj Singh , Kapil Dev they come in sundays any time to play on our cricket pitch. Verbum which is the English dramatics society is the best that I see.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are available to outsides only (not for Delhi , Delhi, ncr and nearby region students) very less students go for the hostel facility because of satya niketan where are college is provide with enough Pg for students. The food is tasty and good .

Alumni/Alumna

The senior and really helpful there's nothing as such bullying here . Seniors have fun with the juniors . They are open to give their contact number to us if any problem comes

Exam Structure

We have in total six semesters, with internal exams and external exams each semester. Internal carries for 25 marks with 5 marks for attendance and 75 for external exams. Internal happens in college but for external for some courses studens might go outside the college to a different institute.

Admission

Since this college, comes under Delhi university. One has to first fill a form online once month back before the starting of admission. Some courses were on the basis of entrance exam where as most are merit based. A schedule for cut off was released by the university on its website. Then the first step on the admission day was to get a print out of admission slip of that particular college where I got admission ( gargi college ) then with that slip and other documents which were listed in the college website ( 10th marksheet, 12th marksheet , character certificate , migration of provisional if needed , photo of the candidate and all of their set of self attested photo copy) Then I went to the college got my documents verified and an undertaking form was given to fill. All this took half an hour, the management at gargi college was really fast and good. After we submitted the documents in the college we were asked to keep a check on the du website ( student id ) to pay the admission fee, once the admission is approved by the principal ( meaning, no issue related to the documents ) on the evening the site for crashed because most of the students get their admission on the first day of the three days given for confirming the seat of the particular cut off in a particular college and course. So the next day my admission was confirmed and fee was paid. When the third cut off came I got admitted in Sri venkateshwara college , for the withdrawal I first cancelled my admission online from gargi and got a print out of the same. And one admission form of Sri venkateshwara college to get admitted in the same. I went to gargi around 9 30 submitted my cancellation form ( for which rs 500/- was paid online) then I waited for an hour there to get my original documents back . Then I went to venkateshwara and the same process happend .

Faculty

4

The faculty is super fun and super serious at the time as compared to other colleges venky is quite strict when it comes to attendance. The teachers are packed with all the knowledge that can help a student do wonders . They are helpful and friendly when it comes to fun.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
