Dislikes

i dont like the instrastructure of iit guwahati because buildings are old
inside campus foods are very costly in canteens.
there are two dogs inside the camups and they are unheathy

Course Curriculum Overview

in first semester all students have same course like maths, chemestry , physics, biology and engineering drawing and some labs of physics and electrical and chemistry . from 2nd year onwards in cse banch we have many courses like data science , data mangement , programming languages, AI, machine learning etc. this all coures help in placements and internship. professor are very helping in nature . exam are conducted in every 1 month . and it is much difficult as jee advance

Class Size: 125Course Fees: INR 65000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

for general and obc students needs to pay tuition fee which is 1 lakh per semester and other categories students not needs to pay tuition fees. there are some more fees we all have to pay like mess and hostel fees which is around 30000. there are some scholarship which help students are NSP, FFE etc

Campus Life

there are many festivals which is held in iits . the bigest festival of iit guwahati is Alcheringa. and one more is technice this is technical festivals. we can access any books form library and before return date we have to return . class are well modern designed. sprite is sport festival of iit guwahati. there are many culbs here which help us lot.

Admission

for admission in iits there are some exam to qualify . first exam is jee mains and the 2nd exam is jee advanced . for sitting in jee advanced exam all candidates need to qualify jee mains exam . cut off for jee mains exam for obc candidate is 72 persentile , gen. 80 persentile , sc and st 40 persentile . jee advance cut off for obc is 65 no. , gen 72 no. and for st and sc 30 no. i don't like the to much high cut off for obc and general students.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

Charmingly Challenging Champion

Placement Experience:

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

I chose IIT Guwahati because of a strong IIT brand , excellent placements and comparetively lower fees. Compare to other IIT's it provied good campus expreience and less academic pressure. Compare to other NIT's , private colleges ,IIT Guwahati stands out in every fields. If one coudn't make it too higher IIT's it's because of not elegible after the JEE advanced rank as competition is very intense. Detailed and Unbiased Review

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level.
