IIT Bhubaneswar student life and review

Iam a Civil Engineering Student. In my first year,we had common subjects for all the branches and from second year, we get core related subjects .I like the subjects related to Civil Engineering course which includes transportation engineering , structural engineering and environmental engineering .That's the reason I chose civil engineering as my future. We have labs for each sem through which we can get practical knowledge related to the subject. Teachers have to take care of all the students whether they are understanding properly or not ,they have to put doubt sessions for clearing doubts and repeating some important topics . We have mid semister exams and end semister exams for each semister with a gap of 2 months. Exams are totally from the classes taught by the faculty.After 1st semister ,we get one month holidays and after second semister we get two months holidays.

For Core students, they can work under some projects under their faculty according to their interests .During 2 months holidays ,some core students do internships and get certificates. For non core students -they can learn C,CPP, java ,DSA ,python to get some online internships .Iam not that much aware of stipend provided by the companies exactly.We have SIC ,student internship coordinator who looks into the matters of internships for the students for their particular branch

Placements are generally good but due to recission there are less opportunities provided. Percentage of students getting placements also decreased due to that. This year upto now 53% were placed given by oracle . Highest package offered this year was 64 LPA and the lowest was 6 LPA and average is 15LPA . Different companies like Zomato ,Amazon ,Microsoft, Brane, TATA steel, TCS,tvs, vedanta, publicis sapient and many more. Placements start from 7th semester. My plans are either trying for a core job or writing GATE exam for entering into my Dream IIT for M.Tech in Civil engineering.

For each semister,we have to pay tuition fee 1,17,000 and also mess fee 18000.After my joining,there is hike in mess fee of 2000 rupees.We have to pay a total fees of 1,37,000 .If we apply income certificate having income less than 100000 have to pay 17000 tuition fees and mess fees remains the same. There are scholarships for women. Still,I didn't tried for any internships, we can apply for online non core internships by applying our resume with our skills. We can also work under certain faculty for a project as an internship depending upon our interest

We have 4 fests - Entrepreneurship summit which comes under E-cell , wissenaire-The tech fest , Alma fiesta -the cultural fest and Ashwamedha-The sports fest.Sometimes they will be postpomed or preponed by some reasons .This year,E -Summit happened in February ,Wissenaire and Alma Fiesta in March ,Ashwamedha in November .We have library and reading room facility and during the exams time they will be 24 hours open.We can take book and we can even take the books to room and have to return before a month.Classrooms has central AC ,projectors and sound system.We have all sports facilities and also coach for each sports. Anyone at anytime can play there.We have societies related to Tech, Sociocultural and also social welfare society. We,the atudents involve in fests,societies and alao clubs .We have some new clubs also also spiritual club.All the time we will be involved in them, during exams time we take a break from them .So in my opinion they wont affect much.

We are having single occupancy rooms. For Girls .SHR and GHR are there and for boys, RHR,BHR and MHR are there. According to our year , we have to shift to other hostel/ block of the same hostel.We have pantry room facilities.Library and reading room ,Dance room,TV room also table tennis and carroms in hostels. Food is not that much good but if we complain any issues regarding food,they try to change it. We have different portal for hostel payment. Hostel and mess fees was affordable

During my 12th standard,I wrote JEE Mains 2022 which has two attempts and exam is of 3 hours which consists of multiple choice questions and integer type questions and also negative marking. Depending upon it's score,we can get into NIT's and IIIT's ,after qualifying for JEE Mains ,we can have the chance to attempt for JEE Advanced through which we can enter into IIT's ,depending upon its rank we can apply for different IIT's. Ranks are also given according to their category (ex:general ,obc).Colleges have certain seats allotted for different categories.Through JoSAA website,we can get all the updates regarding application forms and dates.In JoSAA counselling ,we keep our preference order of different colleges. Councelling happens in 6 rounds.During rounds,we may get colleges on top of the college allotted for us. We have chance to freeze, float, slide during rounds of counselling. special csab round will be there but not for IIT entrance
