Course Curriculum Overview
the course covers mainly everything about ship's engines and also gives us a brief idea about other fields aswell in real life we will need some basic electrical engineering or mechanical engineering education which is accomplished due to this course the curriculum has syllabus which we will learn after becoming 2nd engineer or chief engineer and is kind of baseless at this point end semester examinations are held every semester (may-june/ december-jan) it's moderately difficult
Placement Experience
from 4th or 5th semester you'll start giving interviews for placement companies like chevron,mitsui OSK lines,NYK, maersk, fleet management, dynacom tankers, torm tankers usually come and take around 80-90% of our batch by the end of our course the package is quite the same as we all go as interns so around 500-900 dollars after getting the degree i will sail onboard
Fees and Financial Aid
it's a central government institute so the fees is quite affordable, it isn't increasing anytime soon either 9 lakhs would be the complete fees for my course our college does not give any scholarships, you can apply for some via government portals
Campus Life
technical events are often held by our college, college fest is held once in every year our course books are issued by the library inside the campus(it's free) and in the library there is a variety for books readily available for us the technology in our college is readily improving, we have VR simulation room in our college for better learning aswell the college offers different sports such as hockey,cricket,badminton,volleyball,basketball,football,table tennis... there are alot of extracurricular activities to participate in as of now no clubs or groups have been found or created yet!
Hostel Facilities
we have cupboards fan lights balcony and beds (it's a shared room)... basically all the basic necessities are provided by the hostel the food is good on some days, but on some days it's average, the menu is unique on every single day hostel admission is provided with college admission aswell
Admission
you had to give IMUCET the form is available online((the examination is held in june) if you score a lower rank but you are under reservation category, you can still opt for a good college. the exam is of 3 hours and is held once in every year, it's an easy exam if your basic concepts are clear the admission process is done offline but i feel like online mode should've been provided so that it wont be a hassle for everyone to travel back and forth.
