Likes

The bonding cadets with each other and with senior is very good here and one will stand together for any type of problems
The sports activities here is so good one can choose one sports and can go for various tours
This college had a rank system which the best here by which so many things we have learnt

Dislikes

The campus area is not that much big than other university have
The restrictions for the students is too many
College should provide funds for the sports

One should decide to join this field if they can leave without their love ones for months and who loves to travel across the world. The difficulty of the exam is moderate and can achieve good rank by studying 11th and 12th basics and some general knowledge

The fee structure till 2022 was 9 lakhs for 4 yrs which includes your hostel fees and mess fess as the college students have to live in the campus itself has they are provided with hostel for all the semester cadets.

The overall experience is very good as the surrounding nature is very good cadets from various region of India live together and exchange their thoughts and the sports facility is very good Various Books are available in the library including you semester syllabus books

To join the Indian maritime university kolkata campus one should give the entrance exam of the college. The name of the exam is IMUCET this entrance exam and is necessary for one who want to join the marine field. The eligibility criteria for this exam is that student should have a average of 60 percent in PCM from any board

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Good for placements, excellent hostel life and good to learn, apply and fun. A college for all round development.

I have searched for many other colleges but i chose this because it is the oldest marine engineering college and has a benchmark legacy, and this college has shaped the merchant navy of the nation. It has been known for producing the finest marine engineers. I preffered marine engineering over other courses because this is a type of training that ensures your wholesome development.
