Since by doing this course you have variety of field to go in shipping industry. The curriculum is categorized by making your base strong to advance level . You have hands on all the basic machines that will be required when you go to onsea. There are variety of teachers who are knowlegeble and most important they are experienced they have done all sorts of work . But I will say when you are in 1st and 2nd year most faculty are teching different subjects . The exams in year is conducted in two semester where each semest has one external exam and two internal exams

The companies can come any time depending upon the demand but most number of recruits are taken from 3rd year. More than 15 companies visit and most cadets placement are done on campus also . Around 80 percent are placed some don't choose placement and wanted to study more like for Mtech . Overall campus placement is quite decent

When I joined the course its fees was 900000 rupees but from this year it is 1100000 rupees since the prices of all the goods has been rising in these so to cop up with these the fees is changed . The fees include in hostel fees , mess fees and tution fees .you can easily get student loan . You can avail for various scholarship like NSP and state scholarship. Sometimes some internships also comes which if you are eligible you can apply

The college is quite good here various events are held regularly like interyear college competition , sports competiontion, marathon, various vultural events , tempest , and we are encouraged to go to participate in various different college events. If you like gain knowledge the library is your world you have every type of books from fiction to non fiction from other courses books to upsc prepartion . Different sports are played here like basekball , hockey football ,tatble tennis

There four different hostel for every year cadetsthat live in. In the 1st yers hostle there is 6 people living in a room with facilites of personal table cupboard shelf and bed provided . In 2nd year there is 2 people living in room with a personal cupboard table and chair with an additional balcony , In 3rds also two peoplein room .In 4th years there is room for single people . The mess is also available for different years they serve quite well with both foods for vegeterian and non vegeterian .You have to live in the hostel while doing courses

First of all we have to give an entrance test called imu cet which is conducted every year around june it is a 200 marks online based test . Its is not very tough if you have studied 12th well you can score a top rank . My rank was 229 . You can register the form online .the application form was 1350 if you have done 12th by taking PCM you can give the exam for btech courses . You should also practice some aptitude questions . The application comes in march and last till may
