Overall NIT Kurukshetra is a very reputed college. It is one of the oldest RECs (rechristened to NIT in year 2002) established in 1963. NIT Kurkshetra has produced some of the very fine engineers in the country. Though it is located on the outskirts of Kurukshetra city, but it still has a very good access to the bus stand and the railway station. It is a 3–3.5 hours drive away from Delhi. Regarding the infrastructure, the old red building (the iconic symbol of the college) is not in a very presentable condition. Every year small maintenance work is done to avoid any further decay. But overall the infrastructure is very good as compared to many NITs, and other colleges. Regarding facilities, you will find them all here from: central library to a computer center equipped with the latest technology, to a big sports complex having a basketball court, a football field, a cricket field, 2 badminton courts, a swimming pool, to a small market within the campus sufficient enough

Placements: - According to the 2023 pass out batch, out of approximately 874 students eligible for placement, 700 offers were given, from which 660 students were placed. Particularly for CS, out of 89 eligible (115 total strength), 88 offers were given, and 80 students were placed. - The highest package was 58 lacs in India for CS. The median is 18.50 lacs, and the average is 21.89 lacs. - Google, Microsoft, Mathworks, Wells Fargo, Winzo, all major tech giants visited the college. - More than 60% of people in CS got internships during the 3rd year of college. But for the 2024 passout, the scenarios are not like that; it's the recession period, so most of the companies are not visiting the campus, hoping for good placements. It was a little lengthy process but was fun as they were not disclosing the proper detail about fees of college and after completing of counciling there was no email from the college but it was good after all as i reached the college the was a bit delay in process as i reached there at 9am and got my admission letter after 4pm.
