- There is lot of events which goes on like for esports and culture and we are able to take part in all
- We have the largest marine workshop so we have hands on pratical work
- Campus life is nice we have different sports and their tournaments like hockey football table tennis
Dislikes
- The main problem is the subjects which are too much for each semester like 8 to 9th subjects
- Same faculties is teaching different subject we can say there is lack faculties for 1st and 2 nd years
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is well designed, supplementary exams are held in 3rd month after the starting of session and from 5th month practicals start then main exam starts. The syllabus is prepared according to the gain of theoritical knowledge as well as practical knowledge.
Internships Opportunities
Internships we can do are more like on site internships like we haveto go to different ports for inhand work. Like in mangalore port, cochin port, mumbai ports and many others most does not provide stipend but give a certificate to put on resume some other internships are online on some maritime news website or channel
Placement Experience
From 4th semester cadets become eligible for campus placements. Major recruiters are pacific basin, fleet management and others companies include chevron, shell , MOL, synergy, anglo estern, dyna gas. 80% cadets gets placement . I will sail after getting placed
Fees and Financial Aid
Odd semester fees is 1.2 lakhs and even semester fees is 1lakhs which includes your tution fees, uniform fees, hostel fees, mess fees, swimming fees . There are various sports like football, billiards, hockey, basketball, badminton.
Campus Life
Samudramanthan is a technical events held in iit Khadakpur in the month of february - march. Tempest is a event which is hosted by college this includes tecnical events, sports , writting competitions , cultural events,many other colleges takes part in this event. There are wide range of books in library for maritime knowledge, current affairs. Classrooms are faciliated with AC. Sports are competitive and good.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are well ventilated 2 people per room with 2 beds, 2 cupboards, 2 chairs , 2 study tables, well cleaned bathrooms cleaned by workers. Meals are very good and healthy even you will get snacks and tea at evenings everyday. City leave every Sunday.
Admission
12th with pcm above 60% , english compulsory Indian Maritime University website Exam is conducted every year in the month of June, forms are available from April onwards, and session starts from the first month of august , exam is not very difficult, you can clear it if have the basics of 10th & 12th .
