NIT SILCHAR FROM A 2ND YEAR VIEW POINT

I love computer so i choosed nit silchar cse department as it has good placement I would say our course is little backward and need to improve as iiit have more advanced cse courses and also their placements are better there should be laptop allowed in class as in iit laptops are allowed and if we dont like to study from professor we can study from laptop that doesnt wastes our time everything about exam is good but i would prefer if the exam time is in evening as i get time to study more

Microsoft -- around 1.5 lakh stipend u should have multiple project around dsa or with development . cgpa is important as many internship opportunites make 8.5 cgpa cap and u cant do anything if cgpa is less and u wont be eligible cant say more about internship as i am in 2nd year and havent sit in internship still now

cse and ece placements are great around 95 percent placemnt last year it was 100 percent microsoft adobe google facebook wipro and various other companies but apple didnt came highest is 85 lpa last year and average is around 26 lakh in cse batch would like to join companies as a developer but not by studying dsa but web development and otherthings

There is no specific tution fee increase policy they incerased sometime but didnt gave any reason My total cost would be around 4lakh i exactly dont know about general category student and also you can get scholarship like nsp,ongc .reliance and there is sbi loan system in our college which is helpful nsp sc scolarship provides more than 1lakh per year in 1st year and 50k per year upto 4th year (if back subject than it is cancelled) ongc provides 48k per annum

technosis - tech festival incandescene - cultural festival there is variety of books in libraty but most of them are from our course only 10 percent outside the course the accessibilty of books is good but i dont like the fact that we need to give our books on semester ending no matter whatever the reason otherwise u cant take admission in next sem as u dont get library clearance sports and extracurricular activites are great as there are differnt clubs and the campus life is very awesome yes, all the clubs are done by students and seniors hardly any faculty involved and that is great as we get various exposure of life by doing things on ourself

u have a wadrobe in hostel , common bathroom and 3 peoples in signle room ..and single room for phd scholars mean quality is 7 of 10 as sometimes its too much worst but u also get good variety of food once in month like gala dinner and sometimes the food is really great and minus one point for less plates available in our mess registration of hostel is done along with colllege semester registration and is offline just the payment is online and recipt is printed out and submitted along with form u can get rented room in silchar town 10 km away but 2 km away rooms are there but thats not that much great and comes in 3 times cost

I am pursuing b tech from nit silchar in cse departement.It is a 4 year course and to pursue this course you will need to have physics.chemistry and maths as primary subject in 10 +2 ..also u need to clear jee exam with percentile more than 90 for category and more than 96 percentile if you are from other state. after clearing jee you have to sit for jossaa and csab counselling and if u get selected in nit silchar further process takes place where a date is allocated and u need to come nit silchar for the form fillup and then u will be done . i have got sc reservation and my fees is 90 percent less than the general student as i pay 10100 per sem + 22500 for mess fees and hostel.The exams took place within 6month and when semester starts we get 2months time for mid sem and after that 1.5 month time before end sem and we get 45 days of vacation. Whole regestriation process of our college is offline and it is pain in ass and it should have been online as we study in tier 1 college
