Course Curriculum Overview

5

It takes six months for one semester, consisting of mid-semester and end-semester exams. The checking of answers in papers is entirely based on the UPSC system. This means it doesn't matter how accurately you answer the questions; full marks are rarely awarded. The CGPA conversion system also impacts the overall CGPA. Here, we have to multiply the CGPA by 8.9, which will affect the aggregate percentage. Yes, the college is following the curriculum, but it will take time to complete it 100%. Yes, the courses are practical in all branches.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

On-campus internship opportunities are limited. You'll likely need to find internships off-campus. However, you can leverage your seniors for referrals, which can help you secure internships. The internship culture at the college is not very strong. In each branch, typically only 30-40% of students participate in internships. Yeah but there is a good competitive coding culture there are students who holds good rank in competitive coding in india and world also.

Placement Experience

4

This is a very important topic for most students. While many colleges are facing a placement recession, AIT Pune is performing exceptionally well, with over 90% of students getting placed. This is one of the best placement records in Pune. All branches have a good placement record, with students receiving competitive offers. For example, Oracle recently offered developer roles to 19 students with a package of 19 LPA, while 6 students were selected by D.E. Shaw with a package of 22 LPA. Additionally, around 62 students were placed in ZS with a package of 13.68 LPA. Many other companies also visit the campus and offer attractive packages. However, it's important to note that core companies in the mechanical engineering field typically offer lower starting packages, averaging around 4.5 LPA. However, with strong knowledge and skills, graduates can secure higher-paying jobs (over 7 LPA) outside of campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Due to good placements, the college increases its fees every year. Many scholarships are available at this college, especially for girls. There are multiple scholarship options, with approximately four to five scholarships available for each branch. Each branch typically consists of around 60 students. Of these, 10 to 12 students receive scholarships directly from the college. Additionally, many students secure scholarships from other relevant sources like Buddyforstudy. Now coming to the most important part, placement is very good here. Despite the recession faced by many colleges, over 85% of students are placed with good salaries.

Campus Life

4.5

Club activities depend entirely on the director and joint director's (JD's) preferences. Currently, the JD is stricter, so he has allowed fewer clubs with a smaller scale of student participation. As the secretary of the nature club in 2023, I can tell you we were only able to hold two events that year due to his limitations. On a brighter note, you'll enjoy the inter-branch competition called 'Aakriti.' There are three Aakritis in total: Technical Aakriti, Cultural Aakriti, and Sports Aakriti. You'll likely enjoy these events, though rumor has it Mechanical always wins Technical Aakriti! The college offers around 20 clubs, including NCC. The AIT playground is one of the best in Pune, and they're constantly improving it.

Hostel Facilities

4

The mess food is considered good compared to other places. However, there are no PG (paying guest) accommodations available on campus since AIT Pune is located on the outskirts of the city. Finding a room as a bachelor in the nearby area can be a challenging task, so be prepared. The college also has limited hostel rooms. They're planning to vacate some senior students to create space. However, there are concerns about the quality of new hostel facilities being built, including additional floors on existing hostels.

Admission

Admission is entirely based on JEE rank. A provisional list of 1,000 students is released, mentioning all the details. From this list, 420 students are selected. Reservations are not allowed, which is totally good for deserving students. The admission process is smooth. First, you need to submit a refundable deposit of 10,000 rupees. This deposit is returned to students who are unable to secure admission. Previously, admission was only available for army wards. Now, the college has expanded eligibility to include air force and navy wards as well.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
