A comprehensive review of NIT Kurukshetra

The course opted by me in my institute is Computer Engineering .I opted for this course because this currently has the most opportunities and with Artificial Intelligence on rise i will also have opportunities in that field. Curriculum here is good and is designed by top teachers , although you might need to put some efforts from your side to truly prepare yourself to real- world applications. Teachers can only provide you with guidance , you have to do the rest. Here 2 Mid-Sem and 1 End-Sem exam are conducted in a semester, difficulty is generally not that high with some irregularities.

Microsoft, Texas, Instruments, Amazon are some of the well known companies which offer internship opportunities to the students with a stipend of around 15000 to 30000 and even more depending upon the company and individual.

Campus placements drive begin from 7th semester of the course . Major recruiters include companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart etc. Approx 80% of the batch gets placed in the drive with average being around 14.7lakh and highest package being 65 lakh.

The tuition fees of the institution is 62500/- per semester like every NIT. The fee hikes are not regular.Along with tution fees you also have to pay other expenses such as student acitivity fee , institute development fees etc.There are fee waivers provided by the government on the basis of family income, which reduces the tuition fee of the individual.

There are 2 major fests held annually . the annual cultural fest known as Confluence held in the month of october and annual techno-management fest known as Techspardha held in the month of March. Library of the institute has variety of books and a student has acces to ample of books and journals present of almost every field. College also provides good sports faclilities of all major sports along with swimming pool and indoor badminton courts. There are various cultural and technical clubs where students can develop themselves. These clubs play an important role in a student's life as most student spend their evenings after class working for the club.

Hostel provided to 1st year boys are triple seating but from second year onwards they get single room facility . 1st year hostels are older one and provided with a balcony , almirah,chair,table and fan. Hostels provided in 2nd year are relatively new and have better infrastructure. Each hostel is provided with a lawn and sports facilities such as badminton and volleyball , there is a common room with a TV and games like Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess.Meanwhile girls get single rooms from 1st year only and the hostels alloted to them are newer ones with better facilities . Every hostels has its own dining area. Mess here is run by student body only which increases the mess advance.Food here is provided 3 times a day and the food varies to bad to average and rarely good.

Admission in this institute and other NITs are done through a rank obtained by an indvidual in JEE(Main) exams through JOSAA and CSAB counselling.A candidate is eligible for admission process if he/she has scored more than 75% in respective boards or is in top 20% of the students in that board.JEE is a tough exam and cutoff for our college is difficult to clear but is definitely possible through good guidance and proper pracitce. Admission process was smooth , you just had to come to college with all the listed documents and you would get your admission letter and afterwards you will be alloted a hostel.
