Remarks

Politics of the administrative staff was really disheartening. Also, the student council elections when a lot of conundrum is seen disturbs the tranquil routine.

Entrance Preview

My Alma mater an evening college has a lot to give. Freedom to learn with is so rare in the modern academic bound scenario. Being in evening college .it never meant daily drudgery or a routine that colleges are but indeed refresh of mind. Teachers are amazing. They are really approachable humble and like friends. And because it is a Delhi University college with amazing NAAC credits don't worry about the academics

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

CBCS the new course based credit scheme. Allows honours students to choose 4 papers from another minor subject in addition to the main one has chosen. This multidisciplinary opportunity is the icing on the cake of an extensive Delhi university honours curriculum. One can also do a masters in the other discipline easily if all the 4 papers are of that discipline.

Internships Opportunities

certificate of the internship and in some cases a letter of recommendation too if not stipend is what attracts the students.M ost of the internships does not provide a fixed amount some are strictly for experience and no stipend is provided at all in some cases there is stipend around Rs 5000 maybe. There are good opportunities 3-4 offers on average can be expected.

Placement Experience

5

The Placement Cell is hard working . Although not all students sit for placements the ones who do get a fairly good job in their final year of college. A lot of companies that are new to the college have started coming .average package is around 2-4 lakhs but this also depends on the course and the marks the student obtained in the semester examination. Some other personality relate factors come in to ply for which the faculty as well as students work hard in rigorous training sessions.

College Events

5

There are numerous events and opportunities in both the college and the hostel.Freshers party for the new students 2.Various fests by different departments 3.Fests by different societies 4.Internship Fare 5.Annual fest in the month of March 6.Seminars where an opportunity to present scholarly articles by students 7. Debates quiz interactive sessions

Fee Structure And Facilities

Yes, the fee structure is very reasonable. Only expenses are travel and food if you have to stay far away from your college. Hostel facility in du is rare and if it is on campus availability is not assured. If one is a day scholar the fee less than 10,000 per annum

Fees and Financial Aid

No. The fees is fairly low One has to arrange everything on Thier own when it comes to living and food .

Campus Life

3.5

The gender ratio was good. Extracurricular activities were fair. Labs and sports need improvement. We had annual festivals which were good. Such an event keeps happening throughout the university for the eg litfest retrospect of the English literature department.

Hostel Facilities

2

I was a resident of the undergraduate hostel for girls luckily which is an excellent place to stay in The food is outstanding and of a great variety. There are facilities like a study room, Computer rooms, gym tuckshop, TV rooms etc the hostel is well equipped and comfortable.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were the best part. Our seniors guided us through every step we took personal interaction with some of them taught us a lot about life.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is same for all the colleges of the University. one of the semester examinations starts is in nov- December and the second-semester examination is in the month of May. Usually, these semester examination Is of a maximum 100 marks of which 75 is external and the rest 25 marks are internal assessment and attendance. 20 marks are for internal assessment for which the students write tests which are checked by college teachers or other forms of assessment like projects presentation and assignments(written) and the rest 5 marks is for the attendance

Admission

Ofcourse a form showing marks after results has to be filled.Admission procedure is very simple . Keeping a watch on the cut off list and finding your percentage statisfying the demand is enough.once you find you just have to walk in with documents and will be helped by the student volunteers and in my case extremely humble , friendly teachers.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is extremely learned the English literature department of Dyal Singh evening is one rarely seen. Teachers are not only highly accomplished people (some of them are published poets and writers) but also down to the earth mentors. The faculty is always there to help if one is keen to be helped. And some teachers by the virtue of the subject will be so good human beings and you will have them more as friends even after you graduate.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
