Remarks

Management can be improved but not too bad. More processes should be online. The best thing about the college is that they give admit cards on 0% attendance as well.

Entrance Preview

I opted for this college because it is near my house. It has great transport connectivity all over the city. It was the best college in which I could get into based on the cut-off. Many of my friends had opted for economics hons in this college only.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Economics hons is not everyone's cup of tea. Since it is less of theory and more derivations, problem-solving, mathematical methods and statistical methods are also used. So, only choose economics if you are good at Math, graphical studies, probability, calculus etc. Overall it is the best course.

Internships Opportunities

Generally, internships are not provided by the college but teachers and societies can refer you to internships.

Placement Experience

2

Placement is not so good for economics hons as companies prefer masters in economics. though one can get the offer from some BPOs like Convergys Concentrix etc. which is not a work related to economics. Hence it can be said that placement is not good enough.

College Events

4.5

Department fresher's from the respective department faculty and seniors is celebrated for the freshers. Then student union throws a fresher's party. Then college official fresher is there. Then if you join any society then that fresher's party will also be celebrated. Some unofficial fresher's party are thrown by the seniors but they are paid. Then there are DUSU elections along with college student union's election. Then after odd semester exams annual day and various fests are held. just before the even semester farewell parties are held just like fresshers.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are around 10000 per year plus around 1000 rupees for exam fees per year. In 30000 your graduation is complete. you can get various small scholarships like 500rupees per month. book-aid is there, fees waiver is there for some students. To avail this a form is filled and a bench of teachers interview the student on why should his fees be waived off?

Fees and Financial Aid

since the fees are very low there is no need of a loan but fees waiver is there for some students. some scholarships giving 500 rupees or 1000 rupees are there.

Campus Life

4

The campus is very big, one of the largest campuses of Delhi University, 12 acres to be precise. one can find everything that one thinks of about a college. Fests, parties, societies, competition, everything. Delicious canteen food, intellect faculty, irritated administration and beautiful people from all across the country. Good news for boys is that there are many more girls than boys as they get concessional cut-offs.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There is no separate hostel facility for college students. Though one can get a hostel room on merit basis by university directly. IT is very hard to get a room as the student's count is much more than the hostel rooms. The hostels charge very less amount around 100 rupees for one month. Food in the canteen of college is very cheap.

Alumni/Alumna

There are facebook pages of the college on which all people from the college can catch up. Alumni can help the juniors in getting jobs.

Exam Structure

Each paper is of 75 marks plus 20 marks internals and 5 marks for attendance. Score good marks in internals as they are easy to score and helps you to maintain your grades. Exams are not easy as I said economics is not easy. And most of the papers are not theoretical so they cannot be crammed a night before rather it has to be studied throughout the semester.

Admission

the first one has to fill a common form of Delhi University later respective colleges form is filled. Admission is based on the best four subject marks in your 12th grade. English is compulsory to add in these best four subjects. If you want to opt for a course which you had not studied in 12th then 2.5% will be deducted from your best four. For instance, a science student opting for economics or b.com then 2.5% will be deducted. college announces the cut off if your percentage surpasses it then directly visit the college along with your all documents.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of the college is highly educated, almost all the professors are PhD holders, studied from JNU, Delhi school of economics and even some foreign universities. there a department of economics where all the professors sit together, one can approach them anytime.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
