Course Curriculum Overview

5

The courses they offer are very valuable and has good future. I chose the courses here because of its reputation of faculty. Teaching method are very fair to the students. They teaches from basics which is the best things for any students . Professors supports evey students and always treats as equal to every students. Exam pattern are some difficult here . And timing and gap between exams are stressful sometimes. So this needs to be improved. every courses here has one of the best faculty. And most of the faculties here are JNU alumini so it's more better in terms of understanding the students here. Masters in this University are great to have because it provides best facilities in India.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There are various opportunities to get here in terms of placement. But the placement cell is not active for all the department. Language students gets many companies like Amazon,Google , concentrix. And most of the employees in these company around Delhi are from JNU . So seek their job ownself because placement cell are not much active. In economics department placement cell are very active and the students here get good package. There are internship opportunities here. To work on field work and to do the research on the ground level. Language student get so much of opportunities like tour guide, translator. So there are opportunities here.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees are fair to every students. This is one of the cheapest and best. Hostel fees are very less because of its diversity. People come from every background to study here. This University also provides the scholarship to the students who need it . So it helps in terms of financial condition too. The food is also good in terms of cost in Delhi. So it is very favourable to every students. University provide 2000 per months to the needy students who are eligible for scholarship. Job opportunities are also very much to the students of this University seeing the reputation students gets job. And every language students can have job in some other company. So the opportunities are good.

Campus Life

4.5

There are so much of things to explore and get experience here. In my opinion JNU gives you better environment, better teaching process and one of the best facilities in India. Campus Life is very cheerful here because of its foundation. The way JNU has constantly developed its living culture is really appreciated. There are disappointment in some of the area such as there is no proper functioning of cultural club, no sports facilities are available, old infrastructure of the hostels . It lack in terms of infrastructure but it gives you the best in terms of freedom, social life, in terms of growth. There are so many student organisation in this Campus too who stand for the students right. Which is really good in this democratic World. There is one of the best library here of 9 floor . And there are enormous number of books available and it is easily being issued if you are a student in this University. Library is open for 24h for self study. So in my opinion this is one of the best.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are 19 hostel in this campus and most of the hostels are very old. It lacks in terms of hostel infrastructure. There are few co-ed hostels also. And there are few girls hostel . Girls hostel is better than those of boys because it is one of the newest. Now a days hostel reparation is taking place .few hostels have been repaired and few left . Every hostel has 4 wardens. Every warden is the Professor of this University. There is a hostel president ,6 mess committee and 5 hostel committee and they are being appointed by the fair election within the hostel. And these representatives ensures the facilities to be provided in the hostel. Every hostel has one badminton court and one general shop. Hostel fees are minimal. You have to pay for food only and rest are very cheap . Accomodation in the hostel are random. 3 persons are allotted in every room but there are few hostels where only single sitter is allowed and PHD students gets such hostels.

Admission

Admission process is some leanthy and time taking here because there so much thing to do in admission. There are numerous things to do . It demands every certificate such as caste, resident ,school TC , income and many more. Exam pattern in BA are not so tough but in MA it's very difficult to get here. Cutoffs in some department are very high and seats are very low. In my opinion digitalizing admission process will be very effective and less time taking. There is reservation in every department. Every department has some reservation seats for the people of every category. Here there is so much of facilities for different abled students'. So JNU gives the way to studenta of every category.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty to student ratio are very fare and sufficient. Professors always come on time .and they are very disciplined. They all are well qualified professors. They understands the students and teach accordingly. They teaches so well that every students are capable of understanding them . They often interact outside the class also. They treat us as they are friends. But in class they r very strict and very understanding too. Each and every faculty are well qualified. And having PhD.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
