Course Curriculum Overview

Couse curriculum is packed, it is effective and ensures the sudents or cadets dont get bored. Workshop and hands on skills classes are placed strategically so that the time management is better. The curriculum also ensures discipline.

Internships Opportunities

Students are sent to internships mainly in different ports and maritime and shipbuilding companies. Relevant courses are done there. Most of them are unpaid, but have a great value to their certificates.

Placement Experience

The placement opportunity is amazing. And each cadet is ensured at least two chances for stting in interview for placement. The basic criteria for the same is that they must have no backlogs. The rest is handles by the placement cell as the best shipping companies come for recruitment.

Fees and Financial Aid

Campus placements are amazing keeping in mind the percentages. The cadets are inducted at a basic trainee level in the starting and after 1 year they have to write an exam called the MEO class 4 and get promoted to 4th engineer, where the average salary is 1400 used per month.

Campus Life

No clubs are allowed in the college but there are amazing opportunities for sports and indoor games. For recreational activities, a fully furnished gym is there and pool tables and table tennis are there as well.

Admission

Admission is only through IMUCET as it is a government college. There are quotas and reservation for SC, ST and OBC and they are sometimes allowed through spot counselling. The counselling procedures are subject to medical fitness.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Good for placements, excellent hostel life and good to learn, apply and fun. A college for all round development.

I have searched for many other colleges but i chose this because it is the oldest marine engineering college and has a benchmark legacy, and this college has shaped the merchant navy of the nation. It has been known for producing the finest marine engineers. I preffered marine engineering over other courses because this is a type of training that ensures your wholesome development.
