Course Curriculum Overview
The political science course is highly comprehensive, but simultaneously, it's also outdated. We have to study ancient Indian politics, which is irrelevant today. Even contemporary papers like global politics do not offer an insight on current global scenarios.
Internships Opportunities
Several companies post their vacancies on the placement cell portal, and students can apply through there. Additionally placement cell also holds an internship fair wherein several companies like India Today, Hemp Store, etc set up job vacancy stalls.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for a general category student is about 14k yearly. I stay in a pg, so I pay an additional cost for Accommodation. Miranda hostel costs about 70k an year. Several scholarships are available, but they are mostly for the economically disadvantaged. Our placement cell also offers several internships from time to time. Campus placement is limited.
Campus Life
Miranda House's annual cultural fest Tempest is a huge affair. Additionally, every society and club conducts it's own fests in the months of March and April. Books are fairly stocked in both Miranda house library and central Library. Delhi University is known for its exposure in terms of sports and extracurricular, and several competitions and tournaments keep happening on campus.
Admission
The admissions took place through CUET exam. The eligibility criteria was 12th grade pass, along with a minimum of 4 subjects in cuet exam. The cuet forms are available on du samarth websites, and the NTA conducts CUET UG and PG yearly. The difficulty level is fairly okay. Syllabus is class 12 ncert and if you have studied for boards well, you can clear cuet.
Faculty
Our faculty is highly qualified and professional. However, speaking for the political science faculty, although they are qualified, they are highly detached from the students. Apart from a few professors, the others methods of teaching are severely outdated and biased.
