What Students Say
Likes
- Before starting, I would just like to say coming to KMC was one of the best decision of my life. I love the infrastructure of the college. The hallways are beautiful, the bathrooms are clean, the lawns are spacious and just what not.
- The faculty of the college if great. Of course there are one of two teachers whom you may not like, but some others are able to make you see past them.
- The location of the college is appreciated. The back door of the college opens right in the middle of Kamala Nagar and just makes it so easy for you to have fun with your friends. The front gate connects you with the rest of the north campus.
Dislikes
- When I entered the college, I really disliked the lack of auditorium in the college. However, thankfully, the college has started the renovation of the auditorium and is expected to be in usable conditions by next year.
- I personally dislike the girls common room. It is quite small especially with the lates change through renovation. Whole the room itself is not satisfactory, the washrooms are beautiful and ever so clean. The mirrors further add a nice touch to it.
Course Curriculum Overview
I love my course. The course is much more than what you may assume. Majoring in English is not just about reading novels but also about understanding the different historical, religious and political context too. What we learn most of the time is the context behind writing a particular text. The curriculum allows us to be radical in our thinking and find our own beliefs. The exams happen at the end of every semester and are of moderate difficulty.
Fees and Financial Aid
Last year there has been a hike in the college fees. However, the amount increased was not sky high and was still accessible with one year fee as Rs 12795. Most of a student's expense consists of the PG fees and some other personal usage amount. PGs are quite expensive and can make you annually spend the same amount as you would spend in private university. There are scholarship policies in the college that one can apply for.
Campus Life
The annual fest of our college is Renaissance which was held in April this year. The fest was a success and a mind-blowing experience. Other than the annual fest, the annual fests of each of the societies add a very festive vibe to the college towards the end of the year. The library is huge and also has 2 fully AC study rooms located on the top and bottom of the library. The college is filled with multiple societies. You say it, the college has it!
Admission
I was allotted this college after clearing CUET UG. I scored 734/800 after normalisation and successfully got my college 4th preference. The exams were of moderate difficulty but confusing. However, the centres for the exams were quite far from me and this step by NTA certainly needs to be changed for a better experience for students.
Faculty
We have approximately over 69 students in our batch with over 13 teachers teaching us. The teachers are excellent. They are all quite diverse. Their diversity allows us to learn a lot more than just the academic knowledge. Most are quite knowledgeable and have done their education from reputable institutions. They are extremely approachable and ever so ready to help us in any way they can.
