- our college campus has really good scenic views and a full range himalyan view,the weather is really cool here ranging from 10-20 degrees even in summer days.
- There are many holy places to visit nearby such as-panch kedar and panch badri temples.one can easily reach kedarnath from our college campus.
- The faculties are highly qualified in our college,all have done their phd's from renowned IIT'S .
Dislikes
- No night life ,as the college is in the outskirts of garhwal region,hence all the markets close around 7 pm.the nearest big city is 4 hrs away i.e rishikesh
- strict in timings for girls(6 pm),the can't live thier college life freely due to the heavy restictions imposed on them
- No health center is available in our college,and the nearest hospital is 10 km away in pauri.
Course Curriculum Overview
As most of the government colleges,the course curriculum hasn't changed since the past 30-40 years. i had a knack for machines so i chose mechanical engineering programme in this college. Improvements can be done by adding more practical approach in the course we have two mid term exams(class tests) and one end semester examinations
Placement Experience
Placement drive starts from 7th semester and one should not have any backlog for sitting in placements. Core companies such as-B.E.L ,Mahindra,Suzuki,HCL,TCS visit our college the highest package from our college was of 97 lakhs(off campus) in amazon the average package is around 4lpa around 30-40% of the students gets placed in our college My plans are a little bit different-where the wind takes me
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees is:31000-32000/ semester,and the fees hike is not as much the complete cost of education is around-4 lakhs including the hostel and mess fees One can get scholarships upto 50k per year by the NSP scholarship scheme the placements are average,ranging from 4 lpa tp 6 lpa on campus placements
Campus Life
We have two fests in our college- 1.Goonj-annual cultural fest,held in the month of april-may 2,Josh-annual sports fest,held in the month of september-october We have a two story library in our college which have some basics engineering books and some random magzines. the classrooms are above average and all the classes have smart board in the classes. sports and extra curriculur activities are not that much in our college.football is the major sport in our college,our college has won UTU three times in a row. We don't have much group or clubs in our college but we are trying to change it next semester
Hostel Facilities
We can triple/single occupancy room in the hostels. Each student gets one cot,one cupboard,one chair and one table. The mess food is average,sometimes they cook good but mostly below average. the hostels are pretty affordable and everyone can get a hostel-hostels cost around 18000 per semester including the mess charges there are less chances of getting a rented room or a Pg ,as the college campus is very far from the city
Admission
The Admission process is via UTU counselling by the JEE MAIN rank,you can get a special quota if you're a student from uttarakhand. you can find the application form on the utu official website,it has two rounds of counselling and two spot rounds. the reservations include-SC/ST reservation , army quota and freedom fighter quota
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is pretty good in our college,it's something around 1:20,the average students in a class is around 60,and each department ha around 10-15 faculties. All the faculties are highly qualified in our college,almost all have done their phd's from either renowned IIT's or good foreign Institutes. the faculties help the students in writing research papers. We don't interact with faculties much often,but they help us anytime we approach them
