Course Curriculum Overview
I chose English because I've always been into reading and novels. The NEP curriculum is a bit fast-paced and lacks some important basics required for the holistic approach toward my subjects. The additional courses are useless. But overall, our college offers really great faculty who go out of their way to make you understand the subject for what it is. Hence, I think it's a good experience.
Internships Opportunities
We have an Internship and Placement cell called Avenues that regularly posts these updates of Internships. They also host an internship fair where a good amount of companies come. But as far as placement is concerned, it's only good for commerce and a few science courses. It's difficult for art students to find placements in Delhi University in general.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being a public education college, the fees is really affordable. Infact many grants and scholarships are available for those who need it and our administration makes sure to provide those well. No campus jobs as such are available, but Student Union and Principal Office Internships do open up, providing students and opportunity to work here.
Campus Life
We have many societies and clubs that offer engagement. The fest culture is also really great at our college. Our Sports Complex has ample space to host sports activities and NCC parades. Our annual fest is named Renaissance. As for technology, our college is a little behind on that as of now. No digital boards or ACs in classrooms. The library and reading rooms are okay.
Admission
Admission was based on CUET Scores. For most Arts courses, it was English + Best of Three Subjects whose scores were considered. For me, the entire process was smooth, but I've heard from others that it did get a bit dicey.
Faculty
One of the best things about this college is the faculty. The faculty of my department is absolutely fantastic and while there are definitely some misses, most of our faculty is really good. They are well-educated, well-researched, and truly understand the teaching pedagogy. They're helpful also, and most of them are pretty chill when it comes to classes. overall, the English department is so worth it.
