Likes
- The very thing I like about the college is that on the very first day of the college, the orientation program make you know the worthiness of being in JMC it gives a whole tour of college and societies also give orientations all by senior student.
- The faculty is very supportive and efficient, zero tolerance towards the ragging and bully as the discipline committee is strict and active
- The exposure given to students through societies as it covers almost all the external and creative fields
Dislikes
- There is nothing as such dislike but we can say that a point of improvement is needed is the hostel facility which is required
- Linguistic understanding should be more improved as there are students who does not opt for English but Hindi
Course Curriculum Overview
My course combination is political science and sociology, both the courses are related to the society and system the curriculum is accurate and give glance of the real happening in the ground realty. It provides the required knowledge both for the textual knowledge and practical use.
Internships Opportunities
The college has a placement which generally works with companies and look for internship and provides opportunity to students interested into it generally the intership programs are of six months with the stipends of 8k however students generally look for off campus internship programs as per their calibre.
Placement Experience
The interview sessions by the companies starts from the fifth semester but students are given placements in sixth semester. Companies like Deloitte, Genpact, Accenture, ditto, ICICI Bank, Gartner visits to offer placements. The average package is 7.8 LPA and highest is 21 LPA. 60% students get the placement, however my personal plan is to pursue further studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since it's a Christian minority so there is a reservation to Christian students and relief in fees are given to students as per their approach to the faculty. Since it is under the University of Delhi so mostly norms are University based but scholarship are given to students who are economically weaker.
Campus Life
The annual fest of Jesus and Mary College is Montage which held every year in the starting of the year after this every departments helds it's fest and different societies as well. The social life of college is really great as the interaction between students are very frequent. The library of the college is of 3 floors and each floor consist books of different genre. Classrooms and technically equipped the sports part of the college in very awesome as college has its own gym, football ground, tennis lawn, basketball ground and rooms for inside games.
Admission
As per the New Education Policy after the commencement of Common University Entrance Test and after results one needs to fill the preference lists and as per your scores the colleges will be provided to you after the selection in college the admission process is very smooth you just need to pay the admission fees and documents verified on the very first day of college.
Faculty
The teacher here are highly qualified and some are also alumni of the college itself. The conduction of classes are very structured as there is no overcrowding in the class so generally the classes are very interactive, moreover it is not only limited to just reading texts but a whole discussion which involves both students and teacher on topics. The teachers are very open to accepts the ideas and knowledge which gives confidence to students. There are often activities related to the course topics are conducted like group discussion, presentation, speak up session, quiz are conducted to make it more understandable. When it comes about the availability of the teachers then teachers and really really generous one can approach whenever they need help or guidance they are very much understanding and always forward to help the students.
