- Campus is very big and beautiful. Buses are available for transport within the campus
- Green campus . Vehicles are not allowed inside campus for students and therefore it is safer .
- Good connections between seniors and juniors . Faculty members are really helpful . Good for research .
Dislikes
- Exams are very tough and teaching can be improved
- Lot of crows leading to crow dump throughout the campus
- This year college technical and cultural fest was not conducted due to internal issues .
Course Curriculum Overview
Mechanical engineering is a course which mostly consists of physics subjects . The curriculum includes both theory as well as practical subjects like mechanical and electrical labs . Overall we get can idea about the whole course and its use in real world .
Internships Opportunities
Internship is provided by course faculties . It is usually done from second or third year onwards . Students can approach their faculty advisor or can take up internships from outside sources . It is hard to get paid internships in the second year .
Placement Experience
Placements are good in our campus . Since india is having lesser opportunities now , there is a small decrease in placement percentage . The packages offered are good ranging from 7 to 35 lpa . Some Students opt for higher studies and hence do not participate in placement drive .
Fees and Financial Aid
A new curriculum was introduced this year and therefore there was an increase in tuition fees . Considering this is a govt college , the fees is on the higher side compared to other ktu colleges in kerala . Scholarships are available for students who have less family income . Also students with reservations have lower fees .
Campus Life
There are a lot of clubs and communities in the college . Students can join them once they are in second year . Other activities like sports , cultural activities etc are also present . Home teams are present for the participation in our cultural program ' RAGAM' .
Hostel Facilities
First year hostel is situated inside the campus . Walkable distance to the classrooms . Hostel has only first year students and each room has 4 students . Usually two students of home state and two other state . The campus has 50% other state students . Hostel room is adjustable for 4 students . There is no attached bathrooms . Bathrooms are common .
Admission
The admission to this course was based on the rank i got in jee mains . The admission process was simple and was in their official site . It was completef on the day of physical reporting . Reservation students have a better chance of getting admission as they have reserved seats . Every sem has a midsem and an endsem exam , and quizzes are conducted frequently by the faculty members to give internal marks . The exam difficulty is on the higher side as it has relative grading .
Faculty
A class has 45-60 students depending on the branch . Faculties are really helpful and approachable . You can meet them anytime in their office . Teaching methods can be improved as the subjects are really hard to understand. Faculty members are highly qualified and everyone has a phd .
