Likes
- The campus infrastructure is nice, most of the classes now have smart screens and projectors are present in every class, generator is there so no discomfort in summers
- Cafeteria and a canteen is there for all students and staff. Every hostel has its own mess too. Food quality is acceptable.
- Basketball and football ground present. Play room for Table tennis and badminton is also there.
Dislikes
- Senior-Junior interaction is pretty low in btech cse
- The time table can be pretty hectic as the classes start from 8 am and end at 6pm, although there are breaks in between it still gets tough.
- Parking area is relatively less as compared to the number of vehicles.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is almost same as all engineering universities across the country. The placement and training classes prepare you for placememts, real world competitions and even hackathons. One thing which i don't like is that they don't provide you a roadmap of how you can start your learning journey. As freshies we can be quite confused hence guidance is very important. Exams are conducted twice every semester, mid sem and end sem, along them practicals are conducted too and tests for sessionals.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fee can range from 8 to 12 lakhs based on your scholarship. Hilly region residents can get 25% Tuition fee waiver as per the university's policy. Above 75% there are different academic scholarships provided by the university. For girl child extra 5% fee waiver is included. The campus provides part time jobs to students, like campus ambassador, map guide, receptionist, librarian assistant etc.
Campus Life
Throughtout your course journey, various fests will be conducted. Grafest is the annual fest and the pompus of them all. This year badshah, divine and dj chetas were invited to perform. Other than this numerous mini fests are conducted to de-stress the students. Navratri fest, summer fest, Dussehra and diwali celebrations, Christmas fest etc. 3 to 4 hackathons per year are conducted by the cse department. Other department also have their own fests and anyone can take part in them. Department of commerce and management conduct college fairs which are very fun to visit, you can shop, eat and play games.
Admission
The admission process is pretty simple. Fill the registration form and submit it. If you meet the percentage criteria of 70% in 10th and 12th you can take admission then and there by submitting the fees.
Faculty
Almost all faculties after 3rd sem will be Dr. Professors. Eager to teach and the faculty to student ratio is 1:70. You can find your faculty in the department staff room if they are free and they will be happy to help anytime. You may also contact them if there is an urgency.
