A student's perspective of NIT Agartala

The course curriculum at NIT Agartala is generally regarded as comprehensive and relevant, designed to meet the current demands of the industry and academia. The curriculum is regularly updated to incorporate the latest advancements in technology and industry trends.The courses cover a wide range of topics within each discipline, providing a solid foundation in core subjects while also offering electives for specialized learning.There is a strong emphasis on practical learning through laboratory sessions, projects, internships, and industrial visits.The curriculum also supports research and innovation. Every semester, they conduct mid semester exams and end semester exams and class tests between these exams. They can expand the options of elective courses, there could be a better industrial integrity and more focus towards soft skills.

NIT Agartal provides numerous internship opportunities to enhance students' skills and industrial exposure. The training and placement cell( T&p cell) from different branches helps students in securing internships across different engineering and technology disciplines. Reputed companies like oracle, adobe and microsoft visit the campus to recruit interns which often leads to pre-placement offers( PPO). NIT also collaborates with industries and research organization which offers students the chance to work on real-world projects. Student also opt for many research internships through college.

The student become eligible for campus placement after sixth semester. Gennerally, students who maintained their cgpa above 7.5 gets placed. There were many companies which visited for placements. Software firms such as Oracle, Nvidia, Paypal, Seimens, Paytm, Rapido, Mathworks, Dell, Qualcomm, Chargebee, etc. Core manufacturing companies such as Vedanta oil and gas, Dalmia, Maruti suzuki, CEAT tyres, Ashok Leyland, etc. The percentage rate of placement is around 85%. The highest package is INR 52 LPA offered to CSE and EE branch students. Also Oracle offered placements to around 20 students with CTC of INR 35 LPA. Average package of CSE if INR 14.5 LPA whereas for ECE, it is INR 13.84 LPA. After getting the degree, my plan is to get good placement from the college where i can get good work experience and also i am planning to do masters from IIt for which i will prepare for gate examination.

The fee structure at NIT Agartala varies depending on the program and the category of the student for undergraduate programs like BTech tuition fee is around 125000 per semester for general and OBC categories students and around 6000 to 10000 for SC, ST and PWD students. For post graduate program tuition fee is approximately 35000 to 50000 per semester. Fee increases often account for inflation and rising costs of providing education, including infrastructure development, faculty salaries, and maintenance of facilities.Various central and state government scholarships are available for students from different socio-economic backgrounds. Special scholarships for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). Students from economically weaker sections can apply for scholarships that provide financial assistance based on family income. Scholarships for students belonging to minority community.

NIT Agartal conducts two fest every year i.e, MOKSHA( cultural fest) organised usually in the month of February and AAYAM( technical fest) held usually in the month of March. These fests have visible guest like Ashneer Grover, Yash Garg, Shraddha Khapra and Anubhav Dubey. The centralized library has a wide range of books including Engineering books of all branch, fictional books, books of competitive exams like GATE, GMAT, CAT, UPSC, etc. One can issue 5 books at once for 60 days/ 2 months. The classroom at NIT Agartal are well structured and are equipped with projectors, whiteboards, Wi-Fi connectivity. Cultural Clubs like Dzire, Malhar, Pixels and Technical clubs like E-cell, DCCxGDSC, Anarc, Anima, Mech extremo helps to students to showcase their talents. NIT Agartala also has a sport complex which includes facilities like Badminton and table tennis stadium, Basketball court, Handball ground, Kho-Kho ground and Football ground ad annually holds sports events to encourage students.

A double occupancy room is given to 2 students in which they they are provided with 2 beds, 1 Table, 1 Chair, 1 Fan and ! Cupboard with common washroom in every floor. In menu, they provide breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. Also night canteen is available during examination time at night from 10:00 pm to 12:00 am. Breakfast usually include bread butter, paratha, sandwich, dosa and uttapam with tea everyday. Lunch include Rice, dal, vegetable, salad,etc and same goes in dinner. They also provide sweets for dinner in every two days. Food is overall nice. Registration process for hostel is quite easy, you just have to go to your mis portal in which hostel section is there, pay the hostel fees and you will be assigned a room. usually it cost INR 25,000- INR 30,000 per semester including mess charges.

The admission process was quite simple I say. first, you have to qualify the Joint Entrance Examination(JEE) main. After that there will be a counselling process, namely JoSAA and CSAB and you can take admission to NIT Agartal through this. You can visit the official site of JoSAA anndd fill in the registration form and choice filling. You can choose NIT agartala if you want and put in the top of your choice fillig list. Since, NIT Agartala is one of the best NIT in noth-east, the demand of this college is great especially the computer science and engineering branch. To get into CSE, one should get rank less than 20k to secure a seat in NIT Agartala. Once all the counselling procedure is done, you can visit the campus for physical reporting and also can see the campus. In campus, you will have to sumbit your documents like class 10th and 12th marksheet, transfer certificate,etc. Those information about certificates will be provided in the official website of the college.

In NIT Agartala, faculty-to-student ratio ranges from 1:12 to 1:15 in various departments which helps students to have a good interaction with faculties. Generally, faculties are very interactive and helpful to students with their doubts and for career guidance. Most faculty members are well qualified holding PHDs and master degrees in their fields from reputed institutions like IITs and foreign universities. Many faculty members are actively what in research and have published papers in National and international journals. It teaching style is generally structured and good and contribute significantly to the personal and academic growth of students. One can easily interact with teacher or approach them if they have any doubts regarding the career or Academics or personal growth.
