Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum has become worst after NEP. The syllabus of our core subjects have been diluted and focus has been given to the other subjects which aims to develop skill but I think those skills are something that we can learn ourselves with the help of internet. The dilution of syllabus of our core subjects will prove wrong in long terms.
Internships Opportunities
There are quite good internship opportunities available for commerce students. However for geography, there's no any kind of internship provided for students. You can seek internship opportunities through linkedin Or other methods.
Placement Experience
There's no placement in geography from college. However you can get internships options and employability in gis and remote sensing through your own efforts and college will play not much role. The only best career option available before you is either upsc Or pursuit higher education and become professor.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since it's a government college, the fee is affordable. My annual fees is 17k. There's no facility of hostel for girls so we live in private pg where 1.5 to 2 lakh is average cost per annum. There are good placements in commerce Department but for humanities student there's no placement option. However some students of geography manage to get work in GIS and remote sensing.
Campus Life
The campus life is really radiant. There are as many as 30 socities which conducts event throughout the year. There is annual fest and small fests of all societies. The overall infrastructure is not satisfactory. However geography department is provided with AC and the infrastructure is quite good.
Admission
I took cuet. The cut off for my course in my college was 760 for general. I scored 780 out of 800 which was already high. The cut off of sc and sts were as low as 650. Cuet is conducted by NTA and forms are released online with notification.
Faculty
The faculty of courses are like geography, political science, english is good. The commerce faculty needs to work more on their teaching style (as heard from my friends in different courses ). They don't just stick to books but also provides knowledge regarding career your career especially if it's upsc as most of the faculty in arts department were themselves an upsc aspirant once. If we talk precisely about my course of geography, I think I have the best faculty one could have, the professors are really talented and teach every topic thoroughly.
