- Architecture:Nit Silchar classroom,Hostels and Libraries are very well maintained.
- Seniors:Seniors are very froendly.No ragging culture is there.
- Placement:placements are pretty good in the time of recession also.
Dislikes
- Place: NIT Silchar is outside the town.So if you want to buy something you have to travel minimum 10 km. 10
- Connectivity: Here is a problem of rail connectivity.
- Internship:Internship scenario is not good.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is still old designed.It was last updated in 2018.Since then students are styding the same curriculum.In a semester two main exams are conducted.One is mid semester and another one is end semester.After 2 months of starting the semester the mid-sem will be conducted and then the end-sem.To improve the curriculum they should introduce the field of AI ,tale classes on digital board.For a real world problem aolver the curriculum is finely not suits.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are bot so good. Actually it depends on your skill too.If you are a computer science student , it's easy to get a internship and in core about 30% student are able to find a internship. Vedanta, Amazon, Swiggy, Google, Tata steel, Microsoft etc are the companies where our seniors are doing internship.These are obviously paid internship. And if you want unpaid internships , it's more easily available.
Placement Experience
From the beginning of the 7th semester students become eligible for placements.Big companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Uber, Vedanta, TCS, Wipro, and many more companies visit our campus.l 5o hire freshers. Height placement for the year 2024 is rs 59.6LPA(ctc).And the average placement is almost 10 lakh per annum.Almost 70% get placed this year.My plan is to do a good job in a mnc after getting the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Though i have not idea about the hike of tuition fee increase.Total expense to complete the course will be almost 7-8 Lakh.Yes,there will be scholarship available for general students(whose family income is less) and sc st students.Full tuition fees scholarship will be given to you.And many more public and Govt scholarships are available.You can explore after coming to college.
Campus Life
There are two main fest conducted in our campus in a year.One is cultural fest named incadescense and one technical named technoeis. And almost every community people' s fest is held here and all enjoy it. Almost every type of club is available here like GDSC, Coding Club, Robotics Club, Eco Club, etc.Sports fascility is also good.A football ground, a Cricket Ground, Badminton courts are available.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel fascility is also good.In first year according to your jee rank you will get 2 seater or 3 seater room. Mess meals will be provided 4 times a day and the quality is not bad. All basic needs are available in hostel. Specially Aryabhatta hostel in which I stayed past year was very good. Registration process of hostel will be held on the day you will come here and don't worry about availability of hostel room. All will get hostel room.
Admission
One have to qualify jee-mains and on the basis of rank the admission is taken.One have to take oart in josaa and csab counseling to take this college.Home State reservation is quite good in this college.In the gap of almost two months exam will be conducted.The papers are not so tough.The admission process is highly satisfied.
Faculty
The faculties of NITS are very well qualified and helpful to you.Most of the professors are graduated from IIT and also have done phd from famous university.They put no burden of assignment on you.And yes you have to attend their lecture attentively.
