- The Placement of the college is not satisfactory and does not provide that huge packages.
- Infrastructure is still under construction , the commerce building has not been built after it was tore down
- The Societies does exist but their funding is not regular and the administration do not pay heed to much of their requests.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Commerce field includes courses that provide students with certain knowledge that they will need in the future as a Bachelor of Commerce is itself a practical field and many subjects that have been taught to us like financial management, and business statistics are all examples of certain fields that we might consider for us in the future. DRC conducts its exams along with the University of Delhi curriculum so the timing is quite established. With the mid-semester examinations being conducted now, the frequency of exams has increased.
Placement Experience
Campus Placements vary according to the college. DRC does conduct its placement fair but the companies that are present are not that known or famous. The average package is 12Lakh and the highest package has gone up to 30Lakhs, After the degree, students can go for corporate via MBA or also plan on giving NET who plan on going in the teaching field.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Best thing about the Government college is its fee structure. The fee structure of Bcom Hons in DRC is 18,000 per year which we all know is pretty affordable. There are no other additional charges asked by the college except the examination fees every semester. Scholarships and financial aid are provided by the college as per the center notifications. for example- scholarships for economically weaker sections and others which are provided on the college site.
Campus Life
Campus Life of the University of Delhi is famous and the annual college fests are an anticipated event for all the students across DU. Fests are held from February and go on until May. The College societies are a must-experience for the students who want to gain exposure and grow. Manjari which is the annual fest of DRC is a well-known event and other fests like MECCA, and DTU Fest are all pretty well known. The Library facility available for the students is satisfactory and books are updated as per the latest changes. The Sports facility is not that well taken care of and there is no special facility available for any particular sports.
Admission
Eligibility for the Bcom Hons course is CUET which is an entrance test conducted by NTA early for admission into Various universities. The syllabus and other necessary pieces of information are updated by NTA on its official website. The Exams are conducted after each semester. Semesters usually last between 3-4months. Exams conducted are prepared on a moderate level. The difficulty level changes every year. Administrative process is different according to the colleges but they surely can be improved by employing more young individuals as they can do work at a faster pace.
Faculty
The effectiveness of the faculty members is good. Some professors are interested in their teaching and encourage students to go ahead, provide their opinions, and do more research on the topic. In contrast, there are certain who do not even complete the syllabus. The faculty available is quite qualified and is from famous and established institutes like FMS, DSE, etc. Overall the learning experience is better if we compare from other colleges.
