Likes
- In NITP, we can see very good traditional culture blend of Bihar with other students who came from different parts of the country. As NIT Patna is located on the banks of holy river Ganga, there is very calm vibe around the campus.
- Labs, professors and TA's are good and supportive. Because of small campus there is one benefit that we can go to our lecture hall quickly in less time.e. Outside Campus everything is available as it is located in the middle of Patna city.
- There is also very good culture of Sports. Ground is flat & green with no pit holes which makes it good for playing football and cricket. There is also separate girls and boys gym which consist of impressive amount of exercise machines.
Dislikes
- Due to small campus there is disadvantage also. Number of students in a room of hostel are more than the capacity of room. Also , Library is small which makes difficulties to student during exam preparations.
- Only one ground is present due to which different sports can't be played simultaneously. Canteen is not that good. Wi-fi of hostels are not consistent.
- Since Patna is in it's developing phase due to which it makes difficult to travel from one location to another inside the city.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is well organised in such a way that it promotes to practical our knowledge. As Electromagnetics and semiconductor industry is growing day by day, the college also focus more on those things which will become more demanding in near future. There are some subjects which are not required but then also included in courses like English labs. Teachers should try to focus on innovative strategies so that students can able to apply on real world, these things are required in NITP. There are total 2 semesters per academic year and in each semester there are two exams, one is mid-semester and another is end-semester. Generally mid-sems are less difficult than end-semester as we have to cover entire syllabus of the semester for end-sems.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like atlassian and texas instrument provide intership for SWE role with stiped upto 30k per month. Other companies like PhonePay provide intership for Data Scientist. Com[anies require projects before giving internships. Industrial internships are mandatory part of curriculum.
Placement Experience
After 6th semester student can apply for placements. Many companies (private and government) visit on capus for placements.Companies like PhonePay, Amazon,Atlassian , Adobe , Texas instruments, flipkart and many more visit for campus placements.Highest pakage of year 2024 was 52 Lakhs per annum foe SWE. In CSE 89% ,ECE 82%,EE 78%, ME 90% students get placed this year(2023-24). After getting degree I would also apply for placemets in IT industry for the role SWE.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees does not get increased too much. It is increased with less amount. I belong to general category so my total per semester fees is 96k which includes tution fees,library fees,maintainance fees,hostel and mess fees. Other students who belong to different category get reservation and scholarship based on that.We can also get student loan, if needed at a very low interest. Currently I am a student so i haven't gone through any placement process but our college TnP cell is very active.Highest package was approx 1.6cr in 2022.
Campus Life
Annual events like eccentrica , TCF(Technical and cultural Fest) , Hackathons like Byteverse and Hack-O-fest are organised every year . TCF generally organised in month of january . Most books are available in libraries including academic books and side books for exam preparations like GATE. Different sports like badminton,cricket ,football, Discuss throw,Javelin throw, Weightlifting and Powerlifting are there in campus. Most of the teams of these sports part in All India Inter NIT Meet which are held in different months for different sports in NITs of India. Students clubs like NSS , GDSC ,GYb help students in their personality and acdemic development.
Hostel Facilities
Inside Hostels, each students get their own beds and chair table . But due to small hostel and large number of students , hostels doen't meet the requiremnets of the students. There are common bathroom which are regularly cleaned by people employed for that.There are total 4 boys hostels and 1 girls hostel in NITP. Meals in mess are generally of better quality .They take care of sanitation inside the mess. Registraion are done online.
Admission
Students have to clear JEE mains exam to get admission in this college. Application are generally released after jee results are out.Students get reservation on the basis of economic status and caste.They get fee waiver in their tution fees.Application fees are very affordable. Admission procedures can be improved by providing more details of college and courses to the students, so that they can decide their respective branch .
Faculty
In our branch(ECE) faculty-to-student ratio is 1:70 . Since all students are not present always so, it doesn't make any bad impact. There is good interaction between faculty and student during lectures.In labs ,there are generally 4 TA's for 35 students(4:35), which is good ratio. Professors are skilled in their subjects, they encourage us to do research in particular topics so that we can get in-depth knowledge of our course. Even after lectures and labs they try to help in our doubts and problems either academic related or personal problems. I generally interact when I have to take guidance for any couse or placements.Other than that, in academic i only interact when I have problem in understanding any complex concepts.
