Remarks

Our college is overall good for studies and other activities but talking about the administrative people they are just slow and sometimes non-cooperative but they do help. Our college needs improvement in some areas and is trying to improve too. The college at the time of elections something most all of don't like due to the fights and use if muscle power in college which every common student hates.

Entrance Preview

My marks were a little low and after close scrutiny of different colleges, this college is near to my house which is one of the major factors for choosing this college and the fees are also very nominal in comparison to private colleges. I couldn't get into the college I desired but this college is also great.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum we have to follow is almost similar in all the college, in English Hons. we focus on mainly British literature, which is considered the base of literature along with it we have the literature of other countries as well. We have papers on Indian and Greek literature also. The course is basic that is taught in any other college for the same degree though there can be the difference in course of other universities.

Internships Opportunities

Our college has a placement Saksham, they work very hard and bring many internships with further job opportunities and they annually organise an internship fair which is open to all the students.

Placement Experience

3

The placements are just fine as per my course because the companies which come to our college take mostly students from commerce and economics stream. There are different job opportunities for English Hons student they can do further M.A and clear net exam and can become a lecturer in college. They can go for journalism, can become an editor, can go for civil services as well.

College Events

4

There are many events celebrated in our college. From the beginning we have orientation for the new batches, then the college fresher's party and each department have their fresher's party as well, college and departmental fests happening every year and celebration of national holidays and many more events. There are many events that happen in our college various types of competition and plays and sports competition as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible in comparison to the private colleges which charge you in lakhs but in DU, it is inexpensive compared to that. In my course, I spend around 15000 per year for all the things inclusive of the fee, books, examination fees, transportations and other miscellaneous activities. The fee, of course, is around 7000 excluding examination fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are present for the economically poor and for the students belonging to PWD category. But scholarships are usually not needed.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life in our college is very good. Facilities present are good. The gender ratio in our college is also good and to boost admission of women candidate they are offered relaxation at the time of admission process. Their many extracurricular activities and different competitions are organised by the college as well as college union.

Hostel Facilities

3

In our college sadly, there are no hostels that is one of the sad parts but students can get a pg or flat nearby. There are many flats near the college. The students can get a flat for rent starting from 6000 rs for 2 people. There are not many pg's around the college but flats are available nearby.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not present in our college but ex-students can arrange and have a meet up on their own.

Admission

I waited patiently with the cut-off list and when my percentage fell in the given slot I went to college and secured my admission. The process is the same as in any other college. You have to take your original documents after completion of your school and get them checked to the admission committee and then you have to pay the fee online and Voila!! Seat and admission secured. Please do not forget to fill the application form of DU.

Faculty

4

Don't know about other courses, but the faculty of my department i.e., English is quite good. The teachers are well experienced and very knowledgeable. Almost all the teachers are good if you are into studying and they can guide you very well. But as we know there are some exceptionally amazing teachers and some bad teachers as well(who are less student-friendly), but that is the college in all the colleges and all the courses. So, a final verdict the faculty is good and is well aware of what they are teaching to us.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
