Remarks
There are quite a few negative points and which college doesn't have any. But the best part is the management has always been very supportive may it be financial aids or accidental insurances. The college as a whole gives you a great platform to flourish but again it depends on each individual whether they use this platform accordingly or not. It is not a school which will spoon feed all your needs, you will have to grab opportunities and convert them into good experiences.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is focused on basics and experiential learning. With the inclusion of internship semester of 6 months, you get a vast exposure on theoretical as well as practical knowledge. As an individual it has helped me improve my skills in all aspects from communication to data analytics.
Placement Experience
Placement of the college is quite fair and a lot of big companies conduct a drive in the college which give chances to freshers. I had an opportunity to participate in a drive conducted by Bombardier and fortunately got placed. Also as mentioned, the college curriculum has a six-month internship program, so I had an opportunity to intern at Spark Minda Technical Centre, Spark Minda is an established company in automotive electronics where I got a very good exposure to corporate sector.
College Events
We have the Annual Cultural Fest-Reverb which is a 3-day celebration, where all the students and faculty gather and enjoy. With events such as Fashion Show, Music Concert, Singing and Dancing Competitions. Also, we have various comedians and artists performing throughout the 3 days. We also have the Annual Sports Fest-PROTATHLITIS which includes about 17 different sports wherein each branch competes against each other to win the overall championship trophy. I was fortunate to head this event this year. Other events include the Yoga Day celebration, Literacy Day celebration and others. Amongst all, there is one special event i.e. our Vice Chancellor's Birthday. Every year on his birthday there is a Blood Donation Drive in college, where all the students participate with great enthusiasm.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees Structure includes 2.25 L Tuition Fees annually So for 4 years - 9 L tuition fees Other expenses would be your books. Also if you are a localite, and you opt for bus service then Bus Fees would include accordingly. The college provides uniform which includes a shirt, pant, blazer and tie
Fees and Financial Aid
I personally opted for an education loan at Dena Bank, Mumbai. My father applied for it and I got it through my 10th and 12th Results.
Campus Life
Campus life is amazing, the campus being really beautiful in the rainy season as surrounded by greenery all around. There are a lot of extracurricular activities and depends on each individual how much to get involved. Sports facilities are up to date with all the safety measures taken for the players. Free Gymnasium access is given to all the students of the college. Also, the college has teams participating at events such as Supra SAE and Formula Bharat competitions.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel Fees - 1.25 L annually which include Hostel and Mess fees. Mess provides all the meals including breakfast, lunch, evening snack, dinner. Hostel is very clean and hygienic with attached bathroom in all the rooms. Ideally 3 sharing rooms. Cleaning in hostels done on a regular basis. Also, strict timings help maintain discipline. Mess facilities were decent.
Alumni/Alumna
Every year we have a alumni meet taking place wherein all the alumnus are invited to college so that the current students can interact with them. And alumni lectures are also held which help us guide through the phase after 4 years.
Admission
I applied through my JEE score and was called for the Admission process in mid-June after which I got selected. The admission process was strictly based on merit. Though I was interested in Computer Science, I got into Electronics and Telecommunications. And ended up loving the branch I got into.
Faculty
Most of the faculty we have at SIT has been into industrial sectors for a long time after which they have turned to teach so they have a lot of experience. This experience helps us when they teach us not only from the books but from their experience too. And some faculty have been into teaching only for a quite a long time so we have the blend of both.
