Course Curriculum Overview
E&I branch was established recently so the student size is less compared to other branches. But the professors are one of the best among all branches. The course curriculum makes you well equipped with all the knowledge and skills required during placements. There are lots of hiring being done from this branch in core companies. However more facilities need to be introduced for improving the real world applications
Internships Opportunities
For IT companies they come to our college for recruiting interns. You need to have some projects and knowledge of DSA to qualify. For core companies students need to have projects or research paper under a professor.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from 7th semester onwards. A lot of reputed companies like Samsung, AWS, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, L&T, Cisco, Mahindra, ONGC visit for recruitment. CSE branch has the highest average package of about 18lpa. Highest package for the college is more than 50lpa. Percentage of students placed vary from branch to branch. For E&I it's more than 90%
Fees and Financial Aid
The complete btech course costs around 5 lakhs for a general candidate with no aided benefit. But there the fee is subsidised for those will income below 5 lakhs and belong to SC and ST category. Scholarships can also be availed through NSP and it's a smooth process.
Campus Life
Their are lots of clubs and events for technical as well as cultural aspects. Two big fests of the college are Tecnoesis and Incandescence. The former is the biggest tech fest in the entire northeast while the latter is the biggest cultural fest.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel room comes with a bed a big cupboard, table and a chair with balcony shared between two adjacent rooms. The institute alots hostel at the time of admission. Their are pgs around the campus as well. Overall it's quite affordable. Meal quality isn't upto the mark.
Admission
For Btech course students are admitted using their JEE ranks. 50% of the seats are reserved for home state students. There are reservations for OBC, EWS, ST and SC students too. Application fees and dates can be found in the institute website.
Faculty
Professors are well qualified. Some are quite strict while some are really polite and friendly. They are passionate at what they do and you can learn a lot from them if you interact with them properly. However their teaching methodology is questionable since many of them don't show the enthusiasm.
