What Students Say
Likes
- The crowd here is extremely welcoming and good natured. Even if it is sikh minority college and about 50 percent of the student body is from one communtiy, you'll never feel like a outsider
- The college has the largest ground in all of delhi university along with its own gym, basketball and tennis court and is extremely encouraging towards promoting sports
Dislikes
- Infrastructure is not the best at khalsa. Even though it has ACs in almost every class, none of them seem to work most of the times.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is set by thr university itself. It has also been recently updated in line with the new education policy of the government and now offers students a chance to build upon their skills with new courses in skill enhancement, languages and vocational studies added as a part of the curriculum.
Internships Opportunities
The internship department within the Placement cell works extensively to ensure best internship opportunities for the students. Companies that came last year for internship were boat, noise, AAP, economic times, times of india, fnp etc. The highest stipend is 80k and the average in 20k.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements on entering their 5th semester. The Placement cell here is extremely active and works year round to ensure that the best companies come on board. Last year 175+ offer letters were released and the highest ctc was 23.05 lakh per annum. Companies like deloitte, kpmg, EY, nation with namo, rsm, tresvista etc visit the campus for profiles like consultants, anaylsts etc. The average ctc is 5.80 lakh and the median ctc is 6.05
Fees and Financial Aid
Khalsa is more expensive when compared to other colleges of delhi university but still is charged at 22k per year which is fairly decent when compared to exorbitant fees charged by private institutes. Financial assistance is also easily provided to any student who wishes to avail the same both by the university and the college as well.
Campus Life
Khalsa is located in the heart of du which is the north campus so campus life here is extremely vibrant. It has a lot of societies and clubs for students to pursure their hobbies outside of classrooms. The most prominent are enactus, cdf , bhangra society etc. Khalsa has a prominent library spanning over 2 floors with access to over 1000+ books. It has many society based fests but the most prominent is the annual fest lashkara which is conducted in the month of march.
Admission
The admission is based on CUET like any other college in DU. CUET is an entrance exam conducted by the NTA and is a cbt mcq based exam which is conducted on the basis of 12th grade ncert curriculum. To understand in which subjects you need to give cuet in for your preferred course, you can check the eligibility criteria released by the university on their website. Once your scores for cuet are released, you can apply on the csas portal and fill up your preference list using the same. For khalsa, if you have a sikh minority certificate be sure to apply here as it makes chances of your admission higher due to the quota here
Faculty
The student teacher ratio depends on the subject and course. For popular courses like bcom hons, the student teacher ratio can be 1 teacher for 60 students whereas for someother course like economics it is fairly okay like 1 teacher for 30 students. Yet i believe the faculty here is extremely dedicated to ensure that no student who wants to learn feels left out. With regular lectures, engaging ppts and tutorials for doubt clearing, the faculty ensures that the students are well prepared to tackle all their exams. The faculty is fairly approachable as well and most of the professors are lenient in their markings for internals and assignments. As khalsa is part of the delhi university, the teaching faculty here is also extremely qualified and the best of the best.
