Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I have choosed ba programme history and political science its totally based on arts subjects and because it helps to gain me knowledge about the arts subjects which are helpful for the government jobs , i decided to take this course. The curriculum of this course is really relevant and teaches a lot about the real world political scenario and laws of the government . Thus it makes us a sound student who is well learnt about the political system of the country. Also the history make us learn the ancient decisions and wars of our country and the world. It also teach us how to handle a situation and grow. There could be smart classes for the political science and history and moreover physical visits over different historical locations and political locations can aa boost to the learning. The exmas are heldd semester wise i.e. , 1 exam of all subjects every six months, except those which are only practical subjects. The difficulty of exams is easy to moderate.

Internships Opportunities

3

Few schemes like webinar on reservation policies, admission support system internship at admission branch of University of Delhi are provided in the college. I personally don't have done any internship as i am an active member of National cadet corps (NCC).

Fees and Financial Aid

When i was enrolled the fees i paid was 8,880 rupess for first year. It's really affordable i think for every section. There were no other charges required for taking admission and studying in the college. There are many financial aids available for students like the one as fee refund scheme for the students who are from marginalized communities and come under ews category. In such cases there can be a full college fee refund. You can enroll yourself in a lit of internships which can be paid or unpaid. There are a lot of societies which you can join and get into the leadership roles according to your capacity and learn a lot of things. Moreover, becoming the college appointment is also a great way to learn .

Campus Life

4

Campus life is really good, as i hail from evening college of motilal campus it even makes it better to enjoy the campus life. Firstly the freshers are held in the college for the new students nearly in the November. Other festivals include the sports day in march, ethnic day in February and then the farewell party for seniors in the june. There are other festivals and events too which are celebrated from time to time in the college. Books are available in the library but sometimes it could be a old one. Anyway, you can have a easy accessibility of the books in the library and read them during the library hours. Few of the blocks have airconditioned classrooms while the other with the ceiling fans . Good visible lights are almost available in every classroom. A lot of sports is there in MLNCE . Football team of evening college is one among the best football teams of Delhi University. Other games are also prevalent like the volleyball, basketball and kabbadi. Ncc, alfaaz, others.

Admission

I appeared for the CUET exmas which are conducted by the NTA in all over india and friendly foreign nations. The eligibility of my course was that one must have passed class 12th in one langauge subject (mine was English) and other three domain subjects. Each subject max. Marks was 200 so total was 800 for four subjects whose score was considered by the college for the admission. You can get various types of reservation like caste reservation, reservation on the basis of millitary ward, EWS and physical disability. Moreover, sports quota is also available for which you have submit the certificate of merit of sports during the time off filling up the CUET application form. I personally didn't availed any reservations as come from general background. The process of addmission could be more swift and the live interviews of the selected candidates can enhance the crowd.

Faculty

4

Faculty to students ratio is somewhere 30 to 1. The learning experience is always good as there are regular classes and hardly any professor miss their classes.so this enrich our learning experience. The faculty members are really very qualified and some are very experienced. Although few are young but they also connect to our age very well. We can approach our teachers anytime if they are available in the staff room and none of the meeting is going on there. Thus it makes us easy to get our problems solved easily that too from the teachers itself. They also have a sense of belonging towards the students like us and are always ready to help us put with the best.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
