Remarks

School of Open Learning is good in all aspects because one do not have to disturb their business life and get their studies side by side done.

Entrance Preview

School of Open Leaning is the best option when it comes to distance learning because one can get all the necessities/help needed from the college and still can do anything side by side without harming the studies and the sideby life. School of Open Learning, Certified by Delhi University graduates you with a degree from DU without forcing you to attend the daily classes.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course in its own is vast and very detailed. One cannot differentiate between the distance & the regular course in terms of the study material. Although I have not tried to check the course curriculum for regular studies but still the detailed description of each and every subject tells you that the course is not taken for granted at all.

Internships Opportunities

No, School of Open Learning do not provide internship. Rather it helps you working side by side studying here.

Placement Experience

2

The placements and the job opportunities are good in School of Open Learning. It helps you working side by side studying, whether it is full time or part time work. Which in return helps to increase the experience on field which matters alot in your Job Curriculum.

College Events

2

No such big events takes place in the campus of School of Open Learning. As the campus is in north campus of DU, there are various colleges nearby where the events takes place. School of Open Learning is the place where one comes to takes the classes only.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee Structure is very feasible and affordable. One do not have to redo their budget his/her expenses for paying the School of Open Learning Fee. It costs something around 3k-5k(three thousand- five thousand) only. The Fee also includes the cost of the books in it.

Fees and Financial Aid

As mentioned earlier, the fee structure is very low compared to the other colleges which in return would not require any loan and scholarship to help. Also they do not provide scholarship / loan facility.

Campus Life

2

There is no as such campus life in School of Open Learning. Extra curricular activities like college political party and freshers party and fairwell parties which other colleges does, School of Open Learning does not tend to do so in its campus. Very limited functions takes place.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There is no hostel facility in the School of Open Learning. Although the location where the college is, that is North University near by Kamala Nagar, once can easily get very affordable accommodations there. There is a small canteen inside the School of Open Learning premises which is fine too.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no Alumni Network neither does there is ant touch with the Senior Students. Student comes and goes after their studies done.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is very easy and convenient too. There are three semester in three years. Most of time the dates of the exams tends to fall on May-June. Students gets a whole time to prepare from August to May, for the exams. August is the time when they declares the result mostly.

Admission

Admission in School of Open Learning (SOL) is very easy and convenient for every one. You just have to decide your course that you want to opt for. There's a fixed amount of fees for each and every course that is also mentioned in the SOL website, has to be payed online. The admission is open till late October with a minimum amount of late submission fees. Process has became convenient as everything is now done online and one should not have to go and stand in a queue physically. A login would be created by SOL where all your datas would be saved starting from the 1st year till the end of the 3rd year. Incase one forgets the login credentials, the details are easily found with the help of registered Mail ID and the Barcode number mentioned in the SOL ID card.

Faculty

5

Faculty does matter alot when it comes to college studies. They are the important part of the 3 years journey. Faculty in SOL, I must say is nice and helpful in every aspect. Most importantly, what my personal experience says, there is not that much interaction with the faculty of SOL which is a good thing.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
