The only reason I choose this course because of my jee rank and I have to take any course in top 5 IIT and according to my rank IIT Kharagpur mechanical is best. Mechanical curriculum is mostly designed on the gate syllabus. The project that included in course teaches the most about real world problem/application. There are topics that are part of gates syllabus but not included in course curriculum. As AL/ML demand increases in market , subject including AI /ML can be included for student to prepare for market . Exam are happened quite often after 4 week from the start of the course. There are quiz, class test , midsem . As soon as midsem finished again 4 week later class test and endsem started

For internship there are various companies arrives for different sector like sde , finance , quant, supply chain, consulting, core . But internship opportunity is not good about only 30 % get CDC internship other have to look for off campus Amazon give 150000 per month Goldman Sachs give 150000 per month Microsoft give 140000 per month Terexquant give 450000 per month Adobe give 200000 per month Bajaj give 40000 per month Jaguar land rover give 100000 per month Zepto give 50000 per month Company are biased towards circuital branch and dual degree .

Placement are good not too good . Like every year there is approximately 1600- 1700 student were placed in company. Most of big and moderate size company came for recruitment in every sector sde, finance , consultanting core etc like Amazon , Microsoft, Google , Goldman Sachs, nividia, Adobe zepto anday other. Highest package goes above 1cr every year. Average package is about 17-18 lpa 70 to 80 percentage are placed .

Tution fee is 100000 for general category student and OBC creamy layer. But for SC/ST There is absolutely 0 tution fee. However if your family income is less than 5 lac then tution fee is only 33337 OVERALL FEE STRUCTURE FOR 4 YEAR BTECH general category= 1400000 For family income less than 500000 ,it is 7-8 lakh For SC/ST/family income<100000, it is 4-5 lakh There are various scholarships like MCM , ELIGIBILITY for that is income less than 500000 lakh PA and CGPA of last year is should be greater than 7 and for first year jee advance rank less than 10000. Your tution fee is then nil /0 and 1000 per month is provided for pocket money.

Spring fest and kshitij happened every year in month of January and February. Anyone can participate in it but they have to pay fee if they are not a student of IIT Kharagpur. IIT KHARAGPUR have asia biggest library in terms of books . You can get books very easily but for the course book you have to be attentive apar from that any other book can be availed easily. Classroom design is little bit older but fully equipped with latest technology . NSA , NSO , NCC the are available for EAA curriculum. There are many sports that available in the campus. Each year game features name shaurya happened . There are more than 20 society and most of them is run by student .

In the rooms there are tubelight, fan . Almirah , balcony, wifi, LAN, weakly cleaning of room are provided which are necessary for a student. Any defected /damage product like light is fan, be write in complaint register WHICH is solved within 2 working day. There are two type of mess first one that run by HMC and second that is private. Generally HMC mess are very good. They provide sprouts beans and many other whereas private mess are average . In a week 4-5 day we get non veg . Which is good . Messi food preparation is generally hygienic.There is complaint diary kept in mess in which you can write your complaint There are no registration process as soon as you cleared institute fee you are automatically registered for hostel and mess facility.

To take admission in IIT Kharagpur you have to follow below steps after having 75 and above marks in class 12 (PCM) CBSE board or in top 10 percentile of state board. 1) clear jee mains 2) clear jee advance with good rank generally under 10000 3) Participate in JOSSA counselling Jee main Application form can be found on NTA website. Jee advance can be found at hosting IIT website. There is reservation according to central government norm. Jee main is of 3 hour Jee advance is of 6 hour conducted in 2 shift

I don't know the exact ratio of faculty and student but in most of subject/class there is approximately 120 student are alloted to 1 teacher. Most of Assistant professor do not teach good but any above that like associate professor, professor they teach good but they are slightly boring. There is regular interection with your faculty advisor. But with you subject teacher you have to take appointment via email or at the end of classroom.
