Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum I chose is based on my JEE rank as I was getting Civil as the highest branch as per my rank. But, of course, it is suitable if one is preparing for the PSUs. The subjects included in the course are relevant for seeking the whole knowledge in the respective field. It lets us know in depth about building materials, transportation engineering, environment engineering as well as design of structures plays the most vital role in the whole course.

Fees and Financial Aid

I pay 1.6 lakh per year coming from a family with having average annual income above 8 lakhs. But college definitely shows leniency for people falling under the range of 1 to 5 lakh who pay 60 thousand per year and below 5 lakh pay 12 thousand per year.

Campus Life

4

I had a decent campus life beyond academics. NIT Agartala hosts a cultural fest like Moksha which brings life to the campus as well as the technical fest "Aayam" in which it organizes various competitions in tech, and robotics and also calls various tech freaks and entrepreneurs. The college has a huge library which is a knowledge hub with various journals and books for all the subjects of various departments. The college also has a digital library which comprises many PCs. Now, talking about the classroom is quite large, and also every classroom has smartboards. The campus offers a wide range of sports keeping students physically active and engaged. The campus has the biggest sports complex compared to other NITs. It comprises of Basketball court, Football as well as cricket ground and badminton court also.

Hostel Facilities

2

I have opted for the hostel and the facility is quite poor. They give sharing room till 3rd year of the degree. The food in the mess is hardly having any taste. One would skip meals than eat mess food. Also talking about the in-time, they prefer a very strict in-time of 7:30 pm for girls which is not making any sense as it is quite early. There is a lack of cleanliness and a lot of restrictions for the girls particularly.

Admission

I appeared for the JEE exams to seek admission to the college. Based on my rank, I was provided with NIT Agartala Civil Department. My JEE rank was 93000 and I got admission from CSAB second round under general category female quota.

Faculty

3

I would say although the faculty is approachable during working hours and even via phone, there are only a few who possess the knowledge and teaching skills that are impactful for the betterment of every individual student. Most of them lag in deep knowledge whereas some lag in teaching skills. But, of course in every department almost, there is at least one teacher who contributes the most and even resolves the doubts of the students if it is related to exams like Gate or ESE. A few faculties use smart ways for teaching like smart boards and also uploading lectures on Google Classroom as well as sharing some important sites and books for particular topics/subjects. In my classroom particularly, there were 54 students, and one main faculty and one assistant professor were assigned for the respective subject.

Every year placements happen and about 80 percent of the total students of the institute get placed in various dream tier and other companies with good packages. The packages depend on year to year, more specifically on hiring trends. I still did not make a decision for my post degree plans.
