Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course was (Telugu + Political science).I'm very much interested in Political scinece and Telugu is my Mother tongue .This course only offered by Sri Venkateswara college in the total DU affliated campuses. In my survey , I came to know that Venky college is in first place of DU south campuses. Our circulum was disturbed due to Lock down .we went into online for nearly 2 years .But overall Venky college was so good to study when compared other colleges of DU .My suggestion is for Total DU about examinations they conducted exams for every 4 months because of lock down and all .And they need to improve in hostel facillities and scholarships for students.Coming to the difficulty level of examination was moderate not that tuff

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Personally , I didn't applied for any internship and my friends applied and I have some personal experiences of them .one my friend got selected in women empowerment cell in central govt .Now she was roaming all over india with free access from the govt .They provided her quarters to live . And we have Placement Cell in the College .

Placement Experience

3

For Placements 5th semester students were eligible .They will attend for the interviews in college itself, but they will join the job after the completion of 6th semester who got selected in the interviews.I don't have particular idea about the No.of offers made but nearly 80 companies were offered the jobs like Deloitte ,KPMG etc...The highest package of my college was nearly 22 lakhs per annum which got in 2022.and the avarage package was nearly 4lakhs per annum .I don't have idea about the percentage of the students who got job in campus placements. My plans were recently I enrolled in PG ,And I will preapare for my future Competitive exams

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the course fees in my college was increased year by year in first year we paid around 12,405 ,and in second year there is slight low which is 12,185 and in third year we paid around 14,505 which was increased . In third year The fees was described like this Tution fee: 180 College student welfare fund :3175 Development fund was 1500 College facilities and service charge was 7,350 EWS support fund was 400 And university fee was 1900 And for juniors it was slight high compared to My batch There is no difference in fees according to their categories .All have to be paid same fees In our college we have fee concession for students according to their income of their family like 50 percent ,100 percent like this and I'm unaware about the other scholarships which I was from general category

Campus Life

4.5

They will organise official fest called Nexus once per two year in the months of March or April. And will other fests will also held by the Socities and some regional festivals were also celebrated by their particular departments. The accessibilty of library was aslo avaliable, Student I'd card is necessary to avail permission into library .Classroom are ok with good ventilation and Projectors if it is necessary.class rooms are avaliable in big and small according to the strength.most of the students will come to the college only for sports . Because Venky is famous for Cricket,Football ,basketball and other games .They will allow for admission through sports qouta also .They will send Players for outside tournaments to prove their talent .We have Some clubs like Happy club ,ABVP and NSUI for politics.and we have complaint register cell which helpfull for students .

Hostel Facilities

5

I got hostel seat in my 3rd year. They will offer only 75 seats each for both girls and boys in a batch .I enjoyed a lot in the hostel when compared to college because hostel is very spacious and we have a community which sit together and talk upto 10 :30 in nights .Hostel Rules were very strict .They won't allow students of the hostel after 9:00 pm .They will provide study table, chair and bed and cleaning service was so good .The food in the hostel was not that good but when compare to outside of the hostel it was so better they won't serve non- veg .Hostel is situated within the campus and only 10 metres to the college . security was too strict . Totally Hostel life is like a heaven when have a good community .They will give facillities like common room to study ,washing machine and gym is aslo avaliable

Admission

I opted only this college because my course was only avaliable in Sri Venkateswara among all other DU colleges. As I was from Andhra it would be better to study In Sri Venkateswara collge because it was funding by T.T.D .And Telugu faculty was avaliable here to get help .it was a good thing to get locals in other states .Not only that basically I'm a professional crickter and I listened that Venky college students have good chances to make their career in cricket like Rishab pant ,Aayush badoni and some are alumini of this college .Coming to my admisiion process .In 2020 It was based on our intermediate marks .According to our Percentage we will get a seat and it totally depends upon the avaliability of seats of our course and reservations.it will done through rounds.Personally I didn't opted for any other college than Venky because I have confidence that I can get seat in Venky .But now they were accepting only (CUET)For admission .Generally the cutoffs were high for particularcourse

Faculty

4

The ratio of my programme was 1: 150 .But there is no need to fear because .Students won't come classes regularly Because they were busy in the preparation for their competitive exams and all .Coming to faculty they were so nice if you have any doubt we can approach easily with or without their Permission .Faculty was very friendly with students .I like Ashish Sir who was a assistant professor for pol.sci .Because he is very cool and calm and more understandable .Coming to exams I need to write 4 exams per semester which was moderate not that tuff and students can easily pass if they do less hardwork .Overall Examination Process was so strict

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
