Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Our curriculum offers a wide range of activities that boosts our both intellectual level as well as knowledge standard as for each subject we have presentation which consists of 20 marks which is very interesting activity and then we have book review which also indulge in reading activities. Attendance consists of only 6 marks but it depends whether the student is regular in the class and how they interact in the class. This makes the overall course program effective one. Teaching methods are upto the mark as each unit of the subject holds a particular hours and this proper distribution makes the syllabus complete in a proper framework and then we have plenty of time for the preparation of the exams. We are provided with study leave before and during the examination. Our examination held in two slots For hons, students: 9:30AM-12:30PM For programme students: 2:30 PM- 5:30 PM

Internships Opportunities

3.5

We have different companies and roles under internships like Health.co, summer internship TEACH FOR GREEN, Right action for youth social marketing intern,KIND BEINGS NGO,Gramiksha NGO. KRYPTUS ,our placement cell of Kalindi college organize a wide range of internship opportunities from companies like BAJAJDEKHO,Limitless stree,INGLU GLOBAL,etc. There are various collaboration also like with T.I.M.E.institute.

Placement Experience

3.5

Honestly speaking in our department, there is no campus placement like thing. It is usually in the maths department and the students pursuing economic hons have their college placements. So students of our department mostly pursue higher studies and most of the students go for govt.exams preparation The main motto of choosing this course is that we can aim for our passion that is inclined to GOVT EXAMS like ssc, upsc, etc. After I get the degree,my personal plan is to prepare for the UPSC.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I have admitted in year 2022 in this college then at that time the yearly fees of our department i.e BA(PROGRAMME) is somewhere around 9.6k. But now I am in the third year ,I am paying Rs.10,530 for the same. The distribution of the fees is as followed: University development fee:1200 Development fee:1500 Institutional fee:1000 Tution fees:180 FEES OF B.COM(HONS.)-12630 BA.HONS( JOURNALISM)-23080 BA.HONS(GEOGRAPHY)- 14130 BSC HONS.- 14630 BSC HONS(COMPUTER SCIENCE)-30580 B.Voc- 26333 MA(pol sc) and MA( SANSKRIT)- 6616 University also provides scholarship to the students belonging to economic weaker sections and belonging to OBC,SC AND ST.

Campus Life

4

In this college, there is less exposure in campus life but we have different clubs out there like music club, drama club, dance club, and different societies like debating societies, mehandi clubs, etc. Our college has a wide range of books and journals which is very beneficial for the students.Usually we have a great time in library. Classes has projectors but it is not widely used in the classes. But we have good labs and cyber centres for both students and teachers. Our college has different sports like KABADDI,BOXING,JUDO, VOLLEYBALL,HANDBALL,KHO-KHO,etc. There is well equipped room for sports students and also there is gym and gym instructor too.

Admission

As I have admitted in the year 2022, there has been a newly started an entrance examination for the central university i.e CUET( CENTRAL UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION) which is one of the preferred exam for the 12th passout students as it offers many colleges and universities for the UG PROGRAMMES. The admission process was totally online. After CUET result, I have registered on DU csas portal in which I have allotted my college as my preferences filled there. I have applied to different north campus colleges like daulat ram college,Miranda house, st.stephens, hindu college, etc. In the year 2022, university provides 3 -4 cutoff lists in which we have the options to upgrade and even freeze the college in which we have to make the payment after getting allotted to any college according to the fee structure of that college. I have also applied in JNU ,but I didn't get French (hons.) instead of it I get Arabic (hons) that's the reason I prefer this college over JNU

Faculty

3

The faculty to students ratio is around 1:5 which is pretty good. Faculty is very experienced and their behaviour towards students is very calm and lenient and that's why they are approachable. We have 2 exams in a year,i.e semester wise Aggregating SGPAs of both the semester,we get CGPA of a year. We have theory paper of 90 marks and 70 for the internal examination so it makes the student alert and attentive in the class and also that's why there is high attendance margin.

Other Applied Colleges

Jawaharlal Nehru University - [JNU] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (French)

As I didn't get french hons.there,I get arabic hons.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
