Remarks

I just did not have any bad experience during the duration of my course. The overall experience was great. Just one thing, at that time I did not see any Permanent Principal, just the Officiating ones, if the Principal appointed is now Permanently given the charge, I am left with no suggestion to write about.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The Course Curriculum, as the Admission Procedure, is the same for all the colleges, which basically comprised of Research Papers and Chapters written by some very renowned Economists. There rarely was a single book prescribed for the whole course, what we had is a collection of such Research papers and Chapters, the photocopies of which are famously termed as readings. Exam Structure was 1/5th of the marks being allocated to Internal Papers (as then it was not Semester-based, Annual scheme was followed), and the rest of the marks were vested with the External exams. The course structure let me beware of the in-depth technicalities of Economics.

Placement Experience

3

Central Placement Cell of the University of Delhi was the primary agency looking into the placements, through various opportunities for internships that were provided the College Placement Cell as well.

College Events

3.5

Annual Fests were held every year around the month of February, whereas an Annual Economics fest named "Ecoverve" was organized by Economics society, around the end of February or mid of March. Various seminars and workshops were also organized by the College and the Economics Society.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for the first year was just Rs. 4360 to be precise, all-inclusive. The fees rather than incrementing went on to decrease for the Second year to be somewhere around 3600 and it was around 4000 only for the third year as well. Thus a very pocket-friendly Government College.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was not that much of a need for any kind of Education Loan going by the fee structure previously mentioned. Also, I did not avail or was not eligible for any kind of scholarship.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio was very favorable, you could see an almost equal number of male students as were from the opposite gender. Campus life was quite happening with a very reasonable and rich in variety Canteen. Sports Day with a Cricket tournament was regularly organized, Library had quite a resourceful lot of books. Laboratories were a luxury for an Economics student.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students initially were not helpful, though Ragging is a strict NO on the campus, they had their kind of formal introduction. Eventually, they got friendly and cooperative.

Admission

As this College is affiliated to the University of Delhi, which follows a Common Admission Procedure wherein, back then, a form was supposed to be filled and firstly a Course of choice was to be selected under which all the Colleges providing the same were listed, all of them being available for selection and based on Cut offs declared you could approach the particular College as and when the cutoffs were declared. Since on the first cut-off declaration I did not have my documents ready, I found Moti Lal Nehru College as the best when the second list was released.

Faculty

5

The faculty of the Economics Department was a Highly Experienced, helpful, and an outgoing lot of professors and lecturers. Most of them had no issues in teaching any of the subjects being taught in the course, even the most boring of them were made interesting by their way of teaching which helped me excel in the college as well as with the all-around understanding of Economics.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
