- College Campus is very very beautiful. If you ask to me then i will say that GBPIET have one of the best campus view . Lots of greenery, mountains and Himalayan ranges views.
- You have very free time as compared to other government and private engineering college.
- Good culture and ecosystem of GATE examination.
Dislikes
- You can not expect very high placement from this college especially if you are from core like Electrical, mechanical , civil and biotechnology.
- Some faculties will support you but some of them are very strict.
- Some faculties is not very highly qualified but some of them are very qualified, passout from IITs.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am in Electronics and Communication cource which is new branch in some of colleges but in my college it is first branch. Electronis branch have very booming industry especially in India and other countries. Lots of carrier options in ECE like VlSI, embedded systems, telecommunication , chip design and much more. If i need to suggest some improvements then we have to create proper ecosystem and affairness for this branch. ECE branch have big syllabus as compare to CS but you can switch very easily between IT and core .
Internships Opportunities
If i talk about internship then there is lots of option for it. Few are paid but some are absolutely free. Many seniors done there internship from barc, startups with stipend. But lots of internship does not pay and give you certificates and industrial experience. Many of our seniors complete their research internship under renouned proffesors of IITs or NITs . So if you are enthusiastic and apply in different companies and industries then you definitely got an internship letter.
Placement Experience
In our college campus placemet is not that good as compare to top other government colleges but the environment is good here for competitive exams like GATE, BARC, CDS, UPSC , CAT etc. But this year Computer science, electronics and communciation, Mechanical branch got lots of placement here and off campus is another option .
Fees and Financial Aid
In Govind Ballabh Institute of Engineering and technology (GBPIET) have very affordable fee structure where average middle class can afford but if you have any problem and you cannot afford tha fee then there is lots of scholarship options. Annual College tution fee is almost 75000 and this not fixed for whole engineering 4 years. It slightly vary , not big change you see in tution fee. If i talk about Scholarship then there is state level scholarship, National Scholarship Program, siemens scholarship etc. and if you are SC ST then you have 0 tution fee your tution fee will refund by college.
Campus Life
Goonj is our cultural fest which happens every year but in 2024 goonj happened after 3 years because of covid. Josh is our sports fest which also happens every year. Spandan is our tech fest so you never bored here lots of events happens ecery months. So you should not worry about evenst, extracurricular. For academics you have library where you get lots of books for every branch.
Hostel Facilities
We have lots of hostel with average conditions. In 1st 2nd 3rd year everyone shares room with 3 partners and in final year everyone get theor personal room. If we talk about mess facilities then I'll say it's average or slightly better than other local private and government colleges. If you get admission then there is room alotment process which is very simple. If you want to live outside campus then you can rent a room with decent price.
Admission
I applied for Pantnagar university for engineering and i got mechanical there so i refused and in next round of councelling i got electronics here in gbpiet. To get admission in this college you have to fill utu councelling and rank this college in top priority ig you want. Reason behind choosing this college is it is much closer to my home and secondly i got good branch as per my interest here.
Faculty
To be frank Some faculties are very supportive , educated and highly qualified but some of them are very strict. The average faculty to student ratio is 1:12 . Some faculties like Dr MK Aggarwal Dr KS Bhatia Dr Rajesh kumar Haldia they are very disciplaned and slighty strict for better future and I like the way he disciplaned. In a Semester there is 2 class test each one of is 15 marks per subject and final Sem exam is 100 marks and you need minimum 30 marks to qualify exam. To pass all subjects is not that much difficult. You can easily clear all exam if you study even before few weeks of exam. Majority of students clear exam but there is lots of students with back in minimum 1 or 2 subjects.
