Remarks

college management is fine.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As a student of DU, I know one thing which is the syllabus here is lengthy but it's of high level. after securing the percentage above 90% you won't be disappointed. Sociology's syllabus is very organized, full of content and entails cultural diversity and the works of renowned scholars. the syllabus gets over within 3 or 4 months per semester. the exams usually are of 5 subjects, there are preparatory holidays given between the exams and a student has to attempt any 4 or 5 questions out of 7.

Placement Experience

4

there are no like placements as such. but during the year, the placement companies or firms come into our college and offers internships and jobs. there are also so many popular and efficient NGOs of Delhi like Goonj, CRY, etc. which have come to offer internships.

College Events

5

the prime famous cultural event of our college is NEXUS, organized by FA society and student Union as well as the college administration of our college which is Fine Arts society. It is a three-day event where many dance performances, many famous and Bollywood bands and singer come. there is Sufi night, rock band and then singer/star night. usually, during the days, there are many games, tasks, and performances being conducted during the day.

Fee Structure And Facilities

usually, the fees are very low and depend upon course to course. the fees for the sociology batch is between 12k-14k per year. very affordable right? the additional fees are usually of transportation and living as a PG or in a flat. they are available largely in Satya Niketan which is just opposite the college filled with cafes', coaching centers and lounges'. there is also metro connectivity nearby.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not opted for any scholarship or education loan yet, but I guess one can avail it. one has to talk to the college authorities regarding it.

Campus Life

3.5

campus life is fun for mainly the hostel people and societies' peeps. as they are ones who spend the most time outside the classes and around the campus practicing and having leisure time. also if you are pursuing Economics, B.com or Math which at least has more than 100 students, then also you can have a good time. the gender ratio is equal. there is an ample amount of diversity here. mostly students you will find are South-Indian or North-eastern, there are also students from Delhi NCR and other states too. the labs are great here but not that advanced equipment because of the low fee structure. Venky is famous for its sports team especially football and cricket team. you can find famous Indian team cricket players like Rishabh Pant or Ashish Nehra on Saturdays and Sundays. if you love being competitive and always ready for contention then you should definitely join societies here, as they go competing to places like Lucknow, IIT Kanpur, etc.

Alumni/Alumna

again this depends upon courses to courses. in some courses you find them helpful and then again in some courses, no senior is either supportive or helpful, such as the case in Sociology BATCH.

Admission

I got the admission in this college through merit, as I secured 94.75% which is my best 4 %. the admission is process is lengthy. firstly, after the exams you have to wait for the registration form to come up, then after registration, one has to wait for the cut-offs to come, if your Best4 % is in the cut-off, you can go to the college for admission on prescribed 3 days. you have to bring all your documents obtained from 10th class and 12th class and photocopies of it. then they will be checked by the admin and the teachers too. if there is no discrepancy then you will get the admission slip which will ensure your admission into college. admission usually starts in the months of June and July

Faculty

3

The faculty varies from course to course. As being a sociology student, the teachers' staff is very intellectual and supportive to an extent. you'll get some new so some old teachers every year. the key to impressing them is to be regular and score good marks. Venky is a place where you have to have thorough as well as basic knowledge related to your course to get the edge over your classmates.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
