Journey of growth in Kirori Mal College

The three core papers force us to explore more in depths which is quite remarkable in a sense that it help us to think more rationally and logically. In terms of comprehensiveness, Literature is a great way to explore all the aspects of society,this is one of the reason to pursue this course. The curriculum is quite good but for common courses(they need more trained professionals). It is true that we have to cover a lot in a little span of time,but overall we all manage it.

Final year students(Semester-5 for Three yearcourse and Semester-7 for four year course)are eligible for the campus placement. Last year about 175+ renowned recruiters visited and 172 students of diverse backgrounds secured placement offers. The highest package was of 23.05 lpa and average package was of 7.24 lpa last year which includes the profiles of Finance, Management, Marketing, Associate, Content and many more. After taking degree from this college opens various opportunities for me in the sector of Content and Journalism also for Civil Services.

In first year I paid 12700 as a Tution fee followed by 14310 in my second year. This amount covers all other fees. College is registered in National Scholarship Portal through which amount of 12000 as a scholarship are provided to the eligible students. Financial aid named as Fee Concession Committee gave back half of the fee amount for those who are facing financial issues.

The College premises covers all the basic facilities from Library to Gym to auditorium and so on. Excellent Academic facility is the major concern of the administration. College provides diversity in terms of culture, language. College has it's own annual fest known as Renaissance which held in mid March. Also various cultural societies and different departmental societies host their annual festivals, workshops and other engaging events throughout the year. Library is accessible to all and provides large range of books and sources. Sports and Extra curricular activities are more emphasised in the college and various intra&inter competition are held throughout the session. Student Union plays one of the major role to convey the grievances of the students directly to the administration.

Kirori Mal College was the first preference in my college list because of many reasons: The Department of English has it's own legacy as it is one of the oldest and excellent department of University of Delhi. Professors like Retd.Keval Arora,Mr.Sunjay Sharma,Prof.Someshwar Sati and many more are assets for us students due to their intellectuality.Even in Hindu College you won't find this type of faculty who are always eager to nourish us. In 2023, through CUET,admission were taken. In which we have to select the domain subjects of our 12th class and for Humanities the total marks were of 800 out of which different cut offs were released according to different caste categories. For B.A.(H) English,one has to choose their 3 domain subjects of their 12th class Board Examination along with English.

English faculties is the best one as the faculty members are so down to earth.There are 17 faculty members in it.Each of them are enthusiastic and always there for you to sort out all types of problems. There are 3 core papers and 4 common courses. Each core paper have three units covered by three different teachers. Semester wise examination held in specific session.The level of examination are moderate.Some of them get ER(Essential Repeat)but they are never failed.
