- extra curricular activities are very less
- does not prioritize sports activities even though we have a huge football ground and necessary facilites
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is a bit old in terms of the current market. The new curriculum starting from 2024 which is not applicable to me is way better. They introduced mandatory internship and other good initiatives.
Internships Opportunities
Internships oppurtunities are less. We have to approach the companies through other means. Internship drives happens very less. The new curriculum might change this reality. Mandatory internships will help the students as well as companies in approaching the colleges to hire students as interns
Placement Experience
three lakhs per annum is the average placement in MES college of engineering Kuttippuram. The placements are subpar as the companies visiting is lesser compared to other government colleges but the college does provide placement support and does their best in trying to bring the companies over. The statup initiatives from the college is great
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for the bachelor of technology in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at MESCE Kuttippuram, for Government Merit Quota students is as follows: A one time admission fee of 250 is charged . The tuition fee is 50000 for each year of the four year course. Additional fee includes a special fee of 25000 per year, a PTA fund of 500 per year, PSA fund of 250 per year, a test and examination fee of 300 per year, a university arts and sports fee of 530 per year and a one time internet fee of 3000, a one time ID card fee of 100 and a refundable one time caution deposit of 10000. The total fee for the four tear course is 324590. Insurance is optional at a one time payment of 480 and the cost of uniform is estimated at 7300. Books and a laptop are mandatory, with an estimated cost for books around 3000 per year and for a laptop at around 40000
Campus Life
Mestech is the tech fest that takes place every year in MES College of Engineering Kuttippuram. The IEDC is one of the best in Kerala and has produced numerous startups with the most grown being Genrobotics.
Hostel Facilities
The fees of hostel is very less compared to other colleges. The hostel+mess per year is around 48000. The mess gives you very clean food for around 50 rupees a day that includes breakfast,lunch,dinner and an evening tea and snack. The hostel staff are very nice. The mess is very clean and provides non veg food
Admission
Ease of travel. Nearer to my hometown is one of the reason. I also got admission in Mar Basilious engg college in Trivandrum b=in the 2nd allotment, It felt like a jail comapared to my current college. The facilities in Mar Basilious was also comparitvely bad and the hostel fees was equal to the college fees.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is around 1:30 The faculty is nice and the facilities provided are good Two series exam are conducted before the sem exam, The difficulty is moderate. The faculty are approchable.
