Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Curriculum is engaging it has vast points of considering different aspects of society. It shapes you by teaching psdt knowledge and relating to current world. Nothing can be possible if faculty does not teaches well which in english department teachers does. The area of improvement can be in visual representation of movie adaptations of text. Like college does plans for movie premiere in college but bad facility of projector and no proper maintenance makes students difficult to understand the same. Other difficulty is if students know the answer but time management becomes difficult as English exams require time to structure answers. The lack of 15 minute reading time makes it difficult to structure answer properly. Most of the times you miss important point or altogether leaves question.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee for the B.A. English Honours course is ?10,530, though it can vary if fees are paid late. Additional charges include semester-wise examination fees, which range between ?1,100 and ?1,500 depending on the subject credits. Fee waivers are available, but the process lacks transparency; many students, including myself, are unaware of how to access this opportunity, even as someone from a reservation category. Each year, students from different courses are selected for scholarships during the annual day celebration. These scholarships vary, including certificates, medals, or monetary rewards, and recognize achievements in academics, sports, or student societies. Throughout the year, SC/ST, OBC, or students with income certificates are eligible for scholarships from both government and private institutions. Faculty members typically share relevant information about these opportunities, and the office staff are also supportive. The only drawback I see is the lack of transpar

Campus Life

3.5

Ever year college organise Leherein the college event. It commences in month of feb , March or April . It varies yearly. Each department hold there own orientation and farewell in college. Library has great availability of books and journals and even pyq. Students are even provided with e Library facility. Library is air conditioned providing best experience. It only lacks in fictional genre. Classrooms are congested with lack of smart board some specific classes have that facility which is not that proper leading to poor experience. Only geo lab and computer lab have the best tech experience. College has sir conditioned gym which trains students with approx 300 fee monthly it is a good experience. Extra curricular activities like boxing, badminton, volleyball, handball etc are also available. There are variety of clubs from mehendi to musical , dance, acting and many many more for students to take part and all are equally active.

Admission

I applied to many other colleges of du. My sim was to get admission in du university be it any college. Though I never tried to change my college as it's near my home anu other du campus would have been too far away which would have been challenging for me as I face medical problems. Though there are many areas in which my college would have been better than other colleges like washrooms which are unhygienic, water facility which is there but water is not purified, no gates in washroom, congested space of college,no student wifi works properly, even students personal mobile data does not work, college campus is in congested space, the auditorium of college is in bad condition it does look like auditorium it require immediate attention.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty to students ratio is excellent due to new hiring of professors. Now each student's get personal learning and guidance from there assigned mentors. Teachers are even more approachable in English faculty due to their understanding and compromising nature. Though exceptions are always there one of the faculty which is new appointed regards students as a children not grown ups she even passes derogatory comments and there is no action due to no proper management of listening students pleas for any inconvenience. That should be changed. In total there are 7 exams 4 main and 3 extra that is sec, vac, aec. Ge is optional it is choice between dse and ge. Extra subjects syllabus is easy and has scope to increase percentage. Main stream exams have relevant syllabus they are challenging. Difficulty comes in Ge or Dse subjects as they are new and can be difficult if not understood correctly

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
