Likes
- It gave exposure to my studies. The campus was large and it offer wide varieties of plant species for studies.
- Students studying there are from different parts of the county and they bring their culture helped me to increase my knowledge.
- Got lot of opportunities to meet famous personalities and did lot of internships with highly qualified professionals.
Dislikes
- Canteens inside the campus are but expensive.
- There is nothing like college sports day... But department matches can be operated once we get permission from our TIC.. but a term called sports day was not there.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is not excellent. The method of studying is only theoretical and laboratorial. When I joined this college my expectations of studying Botany was like in old age time... where we learn about a plant by seeing it and knowing it... But it is not always practical. But within the limitations the college offered excellent exposure.
Fees and Financial Aid
For my whole college duration I paid ?24000, ?20000 and ?18000 for the yrs 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. I haven't paid anything extra other than this as the it includes other charges like caution fee, development fees, lab fees and other compulsory fees along with tution fees. For those who had taken courses which neednot had lab didn't paid that lab fees amount from their total fees. There are concession for students belonging to backward classes also.
Campus Life
College has good infrastructure. They are building new blocks and renovation are doing. Since I studied in such a famous college I got to make many friends who are more talented in different fields. Students from different parts of the county were studying there and thus I got to know about their cultures and their beliefs. Mecca is the famous festival of Hindu College and is one of the famous festival amoung DU itself. So got a chance to explore it also. Many famous singers and actors came and performed on stage.
Admission
My college was ranking 1st in science stream and that was the only reason I joined in here. But after joining I never disappointed because I got the best faculty and best peers. Even if you say Hindu college is the best college comparing with other colleges of DU itself. Admission process was done through online. Registered through DU portal and once cut off came gave the preference of colleges and once allotment came 1st yr fee was paid.
Faculty
The faculty to student ration is all fine not just in my department but in every other department. In my department there were 9 permanent faculty and 1 guest faculty for 45 numbered 3 batches. So it's pretty good. The timetable was so lenint where they offered breaks after every 2hr lectures. Faculties are very interactive with students and maintained a good relationship by them taking the first step. Faculties who are teaching there are the best you could find in India. Most of them are from either IITs or DU itself. So the quality is at its peak. About exams... It's very easy to score marks if you have basic understanding of what you are studying and studied the syllabus. Nothing will comes outside the syllabus. They will give 7 questions and we have to attend any 5 in which the 1st will be compulsory. So I will say difficult level of DU semester exams are easy only. Checking is also easy. It's difficult to fail in DU
