Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have chosen to get admission into Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College becouse it has consistently ranked among Delhi University's top colleges in various disciplines and apart from this the faculty members of ARSD have impressive academic backgrounds and research experience. All teachers teaches us with real life examples and the society of this college makes our personality devolop and ready for real-world applications. You will definitely feel that this college is overcrowded infact alone B.A program has 183 students in it's batch which makes it difficult for students to get personal attention by teachers. We have to giver our semester exams in every 6 months including internal assessments and college authorities are so strict about timming of these examinations as these are pre decided by the upper authorities of Delhi University and students are informed about this in every year's academic calendar. Level of exam is moderate from last few years.

Campus Life

5

There are so many fests going on in the college around the year like Vibrance (Annual cultural fest) which helds in February-March, ARSD Premier league (annual sports fest) usually helds in January- February, Tide (annual college fest) is the biggest fest in Arsd in a year and at last Tide ARSD witnessed around 40-50k students in this fest even this big college felt so small that day.

Admission

I haven't applied for any other college as i was aiming for Delhi University. So firstly i gave the cuet examination and after the results Delhi University opened it's CSAS portal which they call Common Seat Allocation System after registering on the portal all DU aspirants were asked to prepare a preference sheet in which you tells du your college preference and course preferences after which they go for their 3rd round known as seat allotment round and in round 1 i got Delhi College of Arts and Commerce but i opted for an upgrade becouse the location of that college was very odd and infrastructure wise DCAC is not so good. In second allotment round i got ARSD and i froze my allotted seat as i was happy with my allotment. I paid the fee and started attending college regularly.

Faculty

5

I choose to do B.A Program as I want to prepare for some government exam which require minimum graduation as eligibility. Teachers-Students ratio ine Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College is so good that it allows students for personalized attention which helps them to clear their doubts and in addition teachers maintain a very friendly behaviour with students which make us students more comfortable with our teachers and make it easier for us to approach our teachers. Exam of every semester including internal assessments are conducted by college on dates that were pre informed to us in each academic calendar and the level of examination is maintained on moderate level from past few years

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
