Course Curriculum Overview

WHEN I CHOSE HINDI AS MY MAIN SUBJECT BECAUSE I COULD RELATE WITH AND HAD KEEN INTEREST TO LEARN ABOUT INDIAN LITERATIURE AND CULTURE. TO BE HONEST NO OTHER SUBJECT COULD GIVE ME THE EXPERIENCE AND EXPOSURE HINDI LITERATURE HAS GIVEN ME SO FAR. IT HAS PREPARED ME WELL FOR THE OUTSIDE WORLD, I AM A CONFIDENT, WELL MANOURED, AND HAVE GOOD COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS, JUST BECAUSE WHAT I'VE LEARNT FROM MY COLLEGE. I HAVE PROVEN THE FACTS WRONG THAT A HINDI PURSUING STUDENT CAN NEVER SPEAK IN ENGLISH OR CAN NOT GOOD AT ENGLISH OR ANY OTHER LANGUAGE. YES THERE'S ALWAYS A HOPE OF IMPROVEMENT WHICH EVERY PERSON AND DEPARETMENT NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF. SUCH AS BETTER STUDY METHODS, NOT OPTING FOR OBSELTE METHODS AND MOVE TOWARDS MORDENISATION. THE TIMINGS I FEEL 3 HOURS FOR AN EXAM IS GOOD NOT MORE THAN THAT. THE DIFFICULTY LEVEL NEEDS TO BE MODERATE AS NO PAPER, NO EXAM DECIDES A STUDENT'S FUTURE OR CALIBRE.

Fees and Financial Aid

THE YEAR WISE FEES I'VE PAID WAS 17,000. THIS WAS THE TOTAL FEES AS IT WAS THE COLLEGE OF DELHI UNIVERSITY A GOVERNMENT . OLLEGE. THERE'S NO CATEGORISATION IN FEES SO ALL MY BATCHMATES HAVE PAID THE SAME. THERE WERE SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID FOR SPECIAL OR PHYSICALLY DISABLED STUDENTS.

Campus Life

AS IT HAS RANKED NIRF RANK 1 COLLEGE, WE USED TO HAVE N NUMBERS OF EVENTS, FESTS AND PROGRAMS. A LOT OF COLLEGES USED TO PARTICAPTE. OUR CULTURAL FESTS AND COLLEGE FESTS, DEPARTMENTAL EVENTS WERE TO DIE FOR. DELHI UNIVERSITY STUDENTS WERE CRAZY FOR ALL THESE. ALTHOUGH WE USED TO HAVE ALL THESE EVENTS EVERY MONTH BUT MOST OF THE PROGRAMS WERE DURING DIWALI AND NEW YEAR SUCH AS DIWALI MELA (FAIR). HINDIOSTAV, ETC. WE HAD A HUGE LIBRARY IN OUR COLLEGE WE HAD AN ACCESS TO THE LIBRARY FOR 3 BOOKS AT A TIME, BUT UNIVERSITY LIBRARY WAS LIKE A TREASURE NEVER NEEDED ANY OTHER SOURCE TO HUNT FROM. THE FACILITIES WERE MINIMAL AS THERE WERE NO AC'S IN MOST OF THE CLASSROOMS, INFRASTURE WAS QUITE GOOD, WATER, FOOD, EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. I REALLY MISS OUR COLLEGE'S PAM CAFE. THERE WERE SO MANY OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES, SPORTS AND EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES SUCH AS NCC, NSS, ICC, DANCE SOCITIES FOR WESTERN AND CULTURAL BOTH, COLLEGE COUNCIL, A COMMITEE FOR LGBTQ+ AND WHAT NOT. THERE WERE SO MANY CLUBS AND SOCIETIES RUN BY STUDENTS MY FAVORITE WAS NUKKAD NATAQ.

Admission

IT WAS MY DREAM TO STUDY IN DELHI UNIVERSITY. AS WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING IN OUR MIND WHEN WE'RE IN CLASS 12 OR EVEN BEFORE THAT. SO DU WAS MY DREAM, AND WHEN I GOT ENROLLED TO MIRANDA TO BE HONEST I WASN'T THAT HAPPY BECAUSE I WANTED KIRODI MAL COLLEGE EARLIER. SO LIKE EVERY AMBITIOUS KID I STARTED CRYING AND YELLING TO THE FACT THAT I COULDN'T GET MY DREAM COLLEGE JUST BECAUSE I COULDN'T MAKE IT DUE TO SOME REASON DIDN'T REACH THE COLLEGE ON TIME ON CUT OFF DAY. BUT WHEN I EXPERIENCED SO MUCH IN MY COLLEGE THEN I REALISED THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD COLLEGE THAT TOO ALL WOMEN'S COLLEGE. YOU GET TO LEARN A LOT FROM GIRLS COLLEGE. THE DEDICATION THEY HAVE TOWARDS EVERYTHING, THEIR WORK, STUDIES, THEIR FAMILIES. HOW MARRIED WOMEN HELPING THEIR FAMILIES AND EMPOWERING THEMSELVES AS WELL. SOME ARE TAKING CARE OF THEIR KIDS AS WELL. SPENDING 6-8 HOURS IN COLLEGE AND MOVING TO THEIR HOME AND DOING HOUSEHOLD CHORES, SOME ARE WORKING, SOME ARE SPORTSPERSON, SOME ARE DEALING WITH SOME SERIOUS LIFE ISSUES AND STILL STANDING STRAIGHT AND STRONG. THIS IS WOMENHOOD, AND THAT WHERE I GET MY STRENGHT FROM.

THE DEPARTMENT WAS QUITE ENOUGH TO GET GOOD RATIO OF STUDENT-TO-TEACHER THERE WERE 12 P.HD TEACHERS, AND 4 GUEST TEACHERS AS WELL. ALL THE TEACHERS WERE GOOD BUT I COULD GET TO SPEND MORE MY TIME AND LEARNT FROM APRAJITA MA,AM, URMIL MA,AM. THERE WERE DISAGREEMENTS WITH SOME FACULTIES BUT NO HATE FOR ANYONE. THERE WERE 6 SEMESTER MAIN EXAMS AND MONTHLY EXAMS AND CLASS TESTS AS WELL. THE TEACHERS HAVE TAUGHT US SO WELL NEVER FELT THE EXAMINATIONS WERE TOUGH. NO ONE FAILED IN THE EXAMINATIONS IN MY BATCH. COURSE AND CURRICULUM WAS WELL MANAGED AND GOOD IN ENTIRE 3 YEARS I'VE NEVER EPERIENCED OR FELT THAT IT WAS A GOVERNMENT COLLEGE AND TEACHERS ARE NOT KEEPING AN EYE ON US ALWAYS FELT WE'RE ON THEIR RADAR.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
