Admission

I went to the counselor first and he suggested me to do Bachelor's Of Arts(Programme)from the school of open learning of Delhi University. After that, I went to Suvidha Educational Academy for taking admission in that and ask about all the legal formalities of admission. The people present there told me to fill up some form for admission and there was some admission fee around 3500 INR in 2014 July as far as I know as I don't remember the month exactly it was somewhere between July and August and then I went to ask for the tuitions for the same as it a was distance learning program and I was not having any kind of knowledge regarding the same as I was from commerce with maths background in 12th standard. after that I used to go to the tuitions daily and gained all the knowledge for the same and I achieved the success with good marks as in only first attempt I cleared all the subjects with 52% approx as an aggregate in the first year and in the same way I cleared my graduation degree with 52.5% marks as an aggregate of all the combined 3 years.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
