Course Curriculum Overview

3

The key aspect was the vast stream of opportunities like the core industries that influenced me to take chemical engineering . The curriculum doesn't prepare you that well for real world you are the one who truly has to study and teach yourself what's what . Even the subjects for competitive exams like GATE are there in 5th and 6 th sem but if you just study up to college level and sit for GATE you are bound to fail that . The curriculum should include more topics which include industrial functionality , how it works and how it is run rather than only the inside components of the industrial components . As for exams after stating of college you will get 1.5 months for mid sems after that may be 1 month or another 1.5 months for preparation of end semester . The gap between exams is almost zero , you will get a gap of 2 days before any one exam only that to because of Sunday .

Internships Opportunities

2

For on campus placements you have to wait till 3rd year before college will not provide you with internships . Though according to my research some government organisations like AMC and other offices provides internships , apart from that even for offcampus internships you have to take some sort of approval letter which the hod doesn't provide before 5 th semester . Some companies may allow you to do internship and provide you with certificates and in some cases stipend ase well

Placement Experience

3

From 7 th and 8th semester you will be officially eligible for placements For major IT companies it will be phonepe , Paytm , TCS, infosys, and many more Other companies include Asian paints , MRF, Reliance , L&T,Tata steel, etc About almost 60% of the students do get placed at the coming of the last semester . My plans are not that special it's just get a job and lead a simple life .

Fees and Financial Aid

The feeling structure of catagory students like us is not that high and not even same for each semester , in second semester you have to pay like 9425 and in 3rd semester 6625,also the general and OBC has to pay a lot more in comparison like above 80000. Development fees is total 5000 which they will take in first and second semester that is total 10000 . There are some other fees which are not clear what they are but they range from 2000 -3000.As per hostel fees if you are new then you have to give a compulsary amount of 7000 at first along with the total hostel fees of 21000. As per scholarships we were advise to check the NSP portal for government scholarships and it depends if students are eligible to opt for scholarship if they are then they have to fill and submit the form in the scholarship section in the administritive block .

Campus Life

4

Out annual cultural festival is MOKSHA which is usually held in the month of February along with this there are tech fest and other club and cultural events which held all over the year. Our library consists of tons of books ranging for various subjects and journals . There will be no issues regarding books . Almost every class room is equipped with projector and screen but not all of them works . Our sports complex is very big it's actually the biggest in the whole northeast , the facilities are there you can play but the swimming pool is still under construction . There are clubs that are run totally by students like pixels , malhar etc , I myself is part of pixels which is the photographic club and it lets me interact with seniors .

Hostel Facilities

2

Facilities include a fan and a tube light a bed and a table and chair, there's a storage for clothes and bags as well.the room is very small for two person to live . The mess food is very bad it's really not upto the marks and standards . You have to register throught the mis portal and pay a Initial fees of 7000 and then pay another 21000 for one semester after that the initial few is not needed . The locality is not good at all you won't even get decent rooms so it's better to take hostels instead .

Admission

My main goal was NIT agartala because obviously it is an college of national importance and yes I did give exams for other colleges as well . As for rejection I didn't actually got rejected I got selected in other college which I applied but then I got chance in nit agartala so I just left it here . Definitely for the admission in an college of national importance like NIT you have to give JEE exam and if you get required percentile according to you preferred college then you can apply , then there will be councelling process where you will get seats in your preferred cources . You have lock one seat as per your choice . The cutoff are pretty high nowadays . After getting the seat you have to do a physica registration with the required documents and you will get verified based on that .

Faculty

3

Most of the faculties are approachable and will help you with your queries and have very good behaviour but some of them are ill mannered and they will act like typical frustrated professors. In my branch there are this sir of fluid mechanics bhaivab sir who is very good , he is practical and doesn't care about the single most thing which students hate attendence , he himself told that "If you want to come to class and attend lectures you are welcome and if you don't dont worry about the attendence",academically he also helps students then there are teachers of our mahine design, accountancy and other classes who are also very good . Our thermodynamics teacher Srimanta Dhar Roy is good at giving lectures but he is very rough with students and I mean very rough he literally doesn't care even if you make a slightest bit of mistake and if you somehow fall in his bad side then there only pain in your life , the maximum number of backlogs that student get is in thermodynamics . One of our math faculties who is PhD scholar doesn't know how to take class so for many students it's just a waste of time to attend his class but then he gets pissed with the attendence and all . As per exams with class tests and quize which totally depends on the teacher on how and when he / she will take it , there's semester exams which . In a year there are 2 semester end semester and mid semester , the mis semester exam is of 20 marks in which even if you get zero you will not get a backlog , the end semester exam is of 50 marks . Combining these two semesters and internal marks you have to score 40 and above to pass . Comparatively the end semester is tougher than the mis semester because the syllabus that time is huge . Most of the students do bad in end sem and get back log .

Night Life

3

For hangout places there isn't much inside the campus you have to go outside the gate to have buy and and to a little better food because the two amul canteens that we have the worst food or you can go to shopping complex which is a little better before 10pm . Typically the girls hostel timing is before 8pm and for boys it's 10pm but you can roam anytime insode the campus if you are from boys hostel . Locally you can't go outside late night because the gets are closed at that time .

Other Applied Colleges

Every year placements happen and about 80 percent of the total students of the institute get placed in various dream tier and other companies with good packages. The packages depend on year to year, more specifically on hiring trends. I still did not make a decision for my post degree plans.
